Blackberry's messaging app, BBM, enables video calling on iOS and Android

BBM video calls

Blackberry has always been focused on the business world, but after the launch of its messaging app, many were the users who opted for these devices to communicate without using SMS which expanded the number of customers of the manufacturer. When Blackberry sales began to decline, due to the rise of both Apple and Android-based smartphones, the Canadian firm was forced to launch its BBM messaging application to other platforms in 2013, in order to maintain interest. on the platform, although it was late again and BBM joined the heap of messaging applications on the market that have not yet taken off.

Currently on the market we find several applications that allow us to make video calls: Skype, Hangouts, Facebook Messenger ... Although it seems strange, there are still people, very few really, who to this day he still uses a Blackberry, especially at work. If any of your friends suffer with the Blackberry every day and you want to get in touch with him through a video call, you can do it now. Blackberry has just updated the BBM application for iOS and Android to be able to make calls between all the users of this messaging application.

This messaging app, which does not require any subscription or payment serviceis currently only available in the United States and Canada, where the firm continues to have a large following. At the moment the operation of video calls is in beta phase but it works almost without problems. Starting in June, the Canadian company will launch this service worldwide.

Currently Blackberry has for sale a single device on the market based on Android, Priv model, but being a high-end terminal, few have been the users who have been interested in him, including companies, despite offering its own ecosystem of applications that offer us the security that we cannot find in Android. Throughout this year, the firm plans to launch two new mid-range devices on the market in order to attract more users to its platform.

As you can see that Mr. Ignacio Sala does not have a BlackBerry. I have a BB Q10 and an iPhone 6 and each has its own strengths that the other does not. In short, when I want to entertain myself I use the iPhone, but when I have to work I definitely use the BB. I would not use an iPhone (and less a Galaxy) to transmit sensitive information.
