Developer Steve Troughton-Smith has revealed on twitter the codename of all known iOS versions till the date; from iOS 1.0 to iOS 5.1 that has not yet been released publicly, although it is in beta.
Here you have them all:
● 1.0: Alpine (1.0.0 - 1.0.2: Heavenly)
● 1.1: Little Bear (1.1.1: Snowbird, 1.1.2: Oktoberfest)
● 2.0: Big Bear
● 2.1: Sugarbowl
● 2.2: Timberline
● 3.0: Kirkwood
● 3.1: Northstar
● 3.2: Wildcat (iPad only)
● 4.0: Apex
● 4.1: Baker
● 4.2: Jasper (4.2.5 - 4.2.10: Phoenix)
● 4.3: Durango
● 5.0: Telluride
● 5.1: Hoodoo
Curious that the first iOS is called Alpine, since as many of you know the password for root access to our iPhones.
Does anyone else give you any information that escapes us?

the same happens to me…
look, like android ... honestly I like the number better
The 4.2.1 «Phoenix» is the resurrection of the iphone 3g xDD, since the previous updates what it did was screw up the phone
My big question is… Xke Android and iOS have such weird names? Oo What does it mean? Like Ice Cream Sandwich ??
Ice Cream Sandwich = Ice Cream Sandwich.
Android names are desserts or cookies
2.3 = Gingerbread / Gingerbread Cookie
2.2 = Frozen Yoghurt / Frozen Yoghurt.
among others.
On iOS, from the looks of it, the names are random.
Well in android the names of the versions are names of desserts that go in alphabetical order and in Apple? What relationship do they have? Or what are they based on to name them?
the best is 5.1 (hoodoo) which means bad luck, I imagine that because of the battery problems and etc that they are having xD
Luckily ios doesn't use the ridiculous android names
