The App Store affiliate system downgrade only affects in-app purchases

Like Amazon, all large companies that sell products or services usually offer users an affiliate program, a rewards program with which users or web pages receive a small commission for linking to specific services or products. Amazon is one of the most used but it is not the only one, since Apple also offers a reward system for all websites that include links to their applications, as long as they are paid and the end user buys them. A little over a week ago a rumor leaked stating that Apple intended to lower the commission it offers through that system.

This information had not been officially confirmed by Apple, but a new rumor suggests that the 7% commission offered by Apple will remain in both the App Store and Mac App Store applications. What if it changes is the rewards program for in-app purchases of the applications, a commission that will be reduced to 2,5%, instead of the 7% that is applied to the purchase of applications. In this way, Apple only modifies the commission it offers for integrated purchases, offering the same percentage in applications.

This rumor has been confirmed through the affiliate program of some users have been able to verify how once we have launched a month, lThe commission offered is still 7%. This decision has its part of logic, taking into account that many users make use of the in-app purchase every month through a subscription system, so it does not make sense to be paying the same commission for a job that has already been done at get the end user to buy the app.
