The evad3rs publish a letter to clarify the rumors of the new jailbreak

It is giving a lot of if everything related to this new jailbreak for iOS 7 and it is that it has caught us all by surprise and the truth is that there are many doubts that arise about the reason for this launch at this time. Not to mention the mysterious chinese shop, Or the rumors about financing of the evaders.

The hacker group now publish a letter (as a 'press' note) explaining their position against the piracy of applications (or piracy in general) and its derivation in the deactivation of the Chinese store. What's more they explain that they have actually had a payment for their work (Obviously nobody works for free). After the jump you have the whole statement ...

As they say They are very scared by all the rumors that are having as a result of the release of this new jailbreak and that is why they have decided that the best thing was to publish a letter explaining everything that has happened ...

Dear friends of the JailBreak Community,

We are so sorry for all the rumors and speculations that are surrounding our JailBreak iOS 7. That is why we would like to tell you the whole story.

Most of the alarm comes from the inclusion of the Chinese App Store Taig. During the development period of the iOS 7 Jailbreak, this company contacted us with the proposal to form a partnership so that Taig would be included in China along with the JailBreak. Taig is a Chinese App Store that is written in Chinese, and that we think is tailor-made to meet the needs of users in the Chinese market. Nevertheless, users are not required to use Taig. Cydia can also be installed and Taig can be removed later. It would be extremely hypocritical not to allow the user to choose during the JailBreak.

Taig has never asked us to reveal our exploits to them, let alone sell them. They simply asked us to include their App Store in China, similarly to what we do with Cydia worldwide, as an additional App Store, and similarly to how previous JailBreaks, such as Blackra1n, included other App Stores other than Cydia .

Of course, the safety of our users is our main concern, and thanks to rigorous scrutiny by security professionals around the world, we can offer one of the lowest risk programs that can be downloaded on the Internet. We are saddened by the accusations made to us in this regard, or of selling harmful exploits. If anyone ever tried to include malware in a JailBreak, we are convinced that the many security experts who carefully examine the JailbBreak software would find it. The binaries are obfuscated for a reason similar to what led us to Cydia being offered compiled, rather than in a separate file. We want to ensure the integrity of the JailBreak and discourage its use by third parties who are likely to want to use it in a destructive way. Obfuscation, of course, is not intended to prevent serious analysis by security professionals (who have quickly done a full scan and discussed the contents of the JailBreak), it is simply intended to prevent it from being easily used by third parties.

Preventing piracy is extremely important to us too. We are very sorry and embarrassed about the piracy that has taken place today. All of us have always been vehemently against piracy in the past. We don't think it's right for developers not to make a profit for their work. In our agreement with Taig, there was a contractual obligation not to allow piracy on its App Store. This was one of the main conditions to work with them. By collaborating with them, we hoped to improve the piracy situation in China. Many App Stores in China, including some run by large companies, have many problems with pirated software. Promoting an App Store that is bound to be pirated with our JailBreak, we believe will help developers.

We are very upset that despite our agreement, piracy was found in the App Store. This is not acceptable, and they have been working vigorously to resolve the issue in good faith, and they have removed all the piracy they have found. We are happy that our Community has realized the problem. We've been so focused on working on the code, we didn't see it coming. We sorry. We will continue to monitor this matter and work to resolve it fully. In case it cannot be resolved, Taig will be removed from the JailBreak.

Many of us have also wondered why this JailBreak was released without Cydia and MobileSubstrate being updated for iOS 7. After receiving Taig's offer, we informed our friend Saurik of our decision to accept it.. SaurikIT has been in talks with Chinese companies, looking for potential partners who can make a counter offer. We believe they share our view that a relationship with companies in China currently using JailBreak could benefit everyone in the community. Unfortunately, the negotiations did not work out. A few days later, we received information that SaurikIT was working with another group to launch a JailBreak before us, so we decided to launch it, knowing that Cydia, MobileSubstrate and JailBreak Tweaks would be updated in a few days, as has always been done in JailBreak.

Yes, we have made financial profit from our work, as have many others in the JailBreak community, including tweak developers, repository owners, etc. Our JailBreak will always be free for users, but we believe we have the right to be compensated ethically, just like any other developer. However, the interests of the community will always be the most important thing to us. When we launched JailBreak, we made a commitment to make donations to foundations that support the interests of the community.. We are very sorry to have inadvertently shocked the community.

We have great affection for the JailBreak community and you are the ones who motivate us to do this job. Having the option to unlock your device is important.

We hope you understand us,  We appreciate all the support you give us.

Evad3rs ...

Now is the time to think about whether to jailbreak your iDevices (or not), I personally prefer to wait a little longer ...
