The first accessories for HomeKit could arrive next week

HomeKit was presented at WWDC 2014, almost a year ago, together with the presentation of iOS 8. HomeKit was the platform that developers and manufacturers would use to create accessories compatible with Apple devices that would help us to dogmatize our home. Smart bulbs, thermostats, coffee makers, surveillance cameras ... a huge variety of gadgets connected to our iPhone and iPad, but of which we have hardly seen anything. However it seems that a year later, the first HomeKit-compatible accessories could start to arrive, so the wait would have come to an end.

If we have already become accustomed to «wearables», an English term that is difficult to translate into Spanish («devices to wear» is a translation that horrifies me) with all this catalog of smartwatches and quantifying bracelets that flood us, now we will have to introduce another new term to our dictionary, although this time in Spanish: «The internet of things». The Internet will no longer be a thing for computers, smartphones and tablets, and "inert" objects until now will "have life" thanks to small chips inside that will allow them to connect to our home network, being able to interact with them.

The iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV will thus become controls for the light in our house, the temperature or even things as basic as making coffee in the morning. In addition to seeing the first compatible devices in a few days, WWDC 15 will be a perfect showcase for HomeKit's (finally) announcement now come true. Taking advantage of the new Apple TV that will supposedly be shown in the inaugural Keynote, and that would be the control center for all connected devices, Apple could finally show us the plans it has to control our home from its devices.
