iOS 17.4 It will arrive in a few days and will bring great news to the European territory to comply with the Digital Markets Law. However, along the way this new update has left pearls in its code such as references to home OS, a possible new operating system, and a new device compatible with a possible HomePod with a screen. Although the first rumors pointed to this new HomePod for 2024, a new report published a few hours ago states that this new HomePod with a screen will not arrive, at the earliest, until 2025. Have Apple's plans been delayed?
HomePod with screen delayed to 2025
Mark Gurman, the Apple guru, has published new information about a product that has been on everyone's lips in recent years: a HomePod with a screen. And since its launch in 2018 we have heard that Apple was working on a product that would control all the home automation similar to the HomePod but with a screen. Throughout these years we have been receiving small nuggets of information such as the homeOS operating system in the iOS beta code or codes for new products running with operating systems not officially available.
El new Gurman report notes that This HomePod will not arrive until 2025 at the earliest, information that differs from all that we had heard until now that pointed to this new product in 2024. Apple seems to have begun the design work and choice of suppliers but according to the analyst it is still “enough progress must be made” to be able to plan the launch.
Remember that the device itself would be a mix between a Apple TV, a HomePod and the screen of an iPad mini that could adhere to the same structure. This product would, therefore, have the functions of the speaker to which a touch screen would be added that would allow controlling the user's home automation products or interacting with Siri.
