Yesterday, despite it being a holiday, Apple stores opened yesterday to put the iPad Air on sale, which presented the past 22 October in San Francisco.
As is customary in any version of Apple, the guys from iFixit have got their hands on the device to disassemble it completely and check how the parts are assembled. It is always interesting to know the elements that compose it to see if there is a possibility of repair or not. At iFixit they are dedicated to this.
The iFixit score is 2 out of 10. The only good thing about the iPad Air when it comes to repair is that the LCD screen and the glass it covers are separate components, so its change is easy if the device suffers some mishap on the screen such as breaks or cracks.
The drums are the component that lowers the note. Not just because of the typical welds of all iDevies in this piece, but because of the amount of glue so that it does not move from its place. Come on, it is completely sealed to the body of the device. The iFixit rippers claim that it is the device that has cost the most to remove the battery. Many of the parts that make up the iPad Air are very similar to those that make up the new iPhone 5s.
With this score so low, from iFixit they advise us throw away the device and buy us a new one if we suffer any damage and the iPad is already out of the coverage period. What is clear to us is one thing, Apple does not want us to dedicate ourselves to trying to fix their devices, that's what they are for.
The iPad Air got the same grade that at the time from iFixit they gave the iPad Mini, where the only element that could be changed was also the LCD screen and the glass that covers it.

I am confused, some say that the iPad air is great, and another terrible ... Any honest opinions? PDD: I write as I get out of the middle eye.
Let's see ... terrible? Absolutely untrue. Great? sure. The best? It depends on what you are looking for, for me yes, for some friends of mine, also, for other friends of mine, no. IPad Air has the experience of the iPad of a lifetime with much more power. Have you tried an iPad? Well, this one is better: smaller, lighter, more powerful, same autonomy.
Is it worth the change? It depends. I'm not going to change my iPad 3 because my wife and my little ones use it and it is not worth it for me to change it, because they are more than delighted. However, I will change my iPad Mini, surely for the iPad Mini Retina, although as this Air gets within reach… I don't know.
I hope I have helped you XD
Is it worth buying the iPad mini 2 or the iPad air if you don't have an ipad yet?
What are we going to tell you on a page dedicated to the iPad? XD Sure yes !!!! HAHAHA. Mini or large? It depends on your budget, if you can the big one, I would go upside down, there is not so much difference in weight or size, and the screen is larger, so better.
& when do those iPads arrive at establishments like Carrefour or Media Markt? Here in Seville there are no Apple Stores and I can't test them live, and I went from going to another province to an Apple store
In El Corte Inglés you already have them, so you can try them without problems.
The English court is more shabby than Carmen Lomana announcing the Burger King, there is no other establishment?
If you want to try it, why do you want more? Being in Seville surely there are more Informatica stores that have it.
What is the difference between this iPad and the past iPad mini? the 1st I say ... and what happens if it is 32 bits?
The difference is the screen (the previous one is not a retina and this one is) and the power (A7 processor as powerful as that of the iPad Air).
If I buy the iPad air or the ipad mini 2, where do you recommend to buy it? I mean, I say it for the guarantee and that ...
My advice is that you go to "that curte store" that you say is the English Court, since for € 60 you make a 2-year insurance that covers any accidental damage you may have.
& in the Apple store they don't do that to you? Does any accident cover it for me?
No, not in the App Store. Any accident yes, as long as it is an accident.
That deserves is due to a reason, have you heard bad criticism about the iPad? Obviously Luis's comment, what are they going to tell you here, of course buy it, if possible, get even an iPhone ...
But do you need it for your diary? If your answer was yes, go ahead and acquire it, not because of our answers, but rather because of your conviction.
Will you review this iPad? I would like to know how fast it is unlike other ipads
If one falls into our hands, sure, but anyway the tests that have been done speak of 3 times more redeeming than the iPad 4.
Do you always answer everything? xd I mean, don't you detach yourself from the screen?
My iPhone is fantastic !! XD
The iPad is the most powerful / powerful »tablet» there is today because it has 64 bits? What is the ipad air of "new"? I am determined to buy it, but I need more push and more desire ...
That cannot be answered with a comment. I can prepare an article on why I would buy an iPad and not another tablet. But that will be my opinion, shared by some but not by others.
It would be good if you believed, I did not see any article of that and I am confused
More or less when could you create it?
I'm on it 😉
I think the newest thing about the competition is the 64-bit processor and its light weight. I do not doubt that in the competition there are good very light tablets, but I think that in power / portability it is the best. On the other hand, iOS 7.0.3 runs quite well on the fourth generation iPad so I also suppose that it will do just as well or better on the iPad Air, the disadvantage that I see is its high price, but hey I think that if you Whether you buy it or not, it should depend more on what you want to do with it, because if the goal is to work with it I think there are better options in the competition, now as a device for leisure, games and for «casual» work I think it is an excellent device.
PS: I am not saying that the iPad cannot be used for work, but if it is for work "pure and simple" I think that a tablet with Windows 8 (not RT) yields more. (personal opinion)
I consider it a mistake to buy the Surface Pro with an iPad. They are two different devices. The Pro is a computer, the iPad is not, with the advantages and disadvantages of both devices.
Of course, I am not comparing them, I just say that there are people who sometimes ask me about a tablet and tell me that they want to work with it and in that sense I think a tablet with Windows 8 like the Surface is better for the same reason as you You mention, it's almost a computer. For example, I do not want a tablet to work, I want it to check social networks, play games, surf the internet, maybe review or write some mail and for those things (and several more) I find it excellent (besides that I really like its design and iOS), I would not change my iPad for a Surface, but it is also for the same reason, I rather want it in a leisure area and one should first define well what they want to use it for 🙂
I think so too
«What else to cost» ...
