Apple launched the first iPod Nano in 2005, a device that could fit in any pocket thanks to its small design and that allowed us to enjoy the music that we had previously copied. The last renewal that this model received is from September 2012, a model that stopped being sold in July 2017.
As is customary within the Apple ecosystem, something that other technology companies do not do, the seventh generation iPano Nano (renewed in 2012) will become part of Vintage devices according to the guys from MacRumors, although it seems that this time Apple an exception.
And I say that it makes an exception because the last iPad Nano stopped selling in July 2017. Apple comes to consider a Vintage product when it has not been sold for more than 5 years but less than 7, but in this case, only 3 years have passed.
When the device has been out of the market for more than 7 years, it becomes part of the Obsolete category. The devices that we find in this category cannot be fixed officially by Apple, forcing users to find a life in other establishments.
Will the seventh generation iPad touch be renewed?
In 2017 Apple got rid of virtually the entire iPod range, as also removed the iPod Suffle of the market, leaving only the iPod touch, a model that is still on sale today and for which there is no news related to a possible short-term renewal.
If we consider that the market pulls towards streaming music, it is unlikely that Apple plans to renew the iPod touch unless it wants to turn it into a powerful portable video game console, although with the screen size it has, 4 inches, it is not an option that many users would consider .
