Two days ago Apple surprised us with the launch of a new model of its iPod 5G. Without ads, without events, without making any noise, not even a small review on the cover of their website, the new iPod Touch becomes the most basic model in the range, with only 16GB of internal storage and no iSight camera. The 5Mpx rear camera is not present in this new model, which with a price of € 249 can be ours from now on, buying it in your online store with free shipping costs or in Apple stores where it is already arriving. One of its first buyers has made a video showing the details of the new Apple device.
The first thing that stands out is that it is available in a color combination that cannot be achieved with the higher models: black and silver. Unlike the 32 and 64GB models, there are no more colors available. At the back, the absence of an iSight camera is striking, and it also does not have the hook for the strap that Apple sells for other models and that allows it to be hooked to the wrist.
The rest of the specifications are identical to those of the other models, as well as the appearance and finishes, at the level of any of the Apple products.
¿Compensates the difference in price for those lower benefits? Well, it will depend on the use that each one wants to give it. Most probably think that they prefer to have an iPod Touch with a camera and more storage capacity, but surely many buyers who make a more basic use of the device will appreciate the € 70 that can be saved when buying this new model. The previous 4G model can no longer be purchased in the Apple online store, so if you wanted to get one, you should hurry up and look for it in other stores where they still have stock. If you want to see the full video, then you have it available.
