Google's streaming music service YouTube Music now supports Siri

YouTube Music

iOS 13 has come with a large number of novelties in various sections, not only visuals such as dark mode, but also in what not seen. One of them is the opening Siri to third parties. This has allowed different music streaming services, such as Spotify, are compatible with Siri.

In this way, we can ask Siri to play our favorite playlist, a specific song or album ... The latest music streaming service compatible with Siri is the one offered by Google: YouTube Music, a streaming music service that it has not quite taken off and is still not an option for most users.

Thanks to the openness of the Siri API to developers, users who they don't want to use Apple Music and prefer to make use of the different available alternatives, they will not find Apple's limitations in that sense. This move is obviously aimed at avoiding possible sanctions or investigations by regulatory bodies.

After the new update of YouTube Music, whose main novelty is the Siri integration, we can ask Siri to play a certain song, an album, to play the same track, to jump to the next one in the playlist… Siri's YouTube Music compatibility is also available with CarPlay.

The search giant launched YouTube Music in May 2018 from YouTube Premium, although the latter has not been as successful with users as expected by the company and most of its content is available for free today.

Regarding the YouTube Music user figures, Google has never announced the number of subscribers to this service. Today, Spotify has 113 million paying subscribers as of September 30, while the number of subscribers of Apple Music reached 60 million in June of this year.
