The Texture app will stop working on Windows, after its acquisition by Apple

A few weeks ago Apple took out the checkbook to buy Texture company, a company that allows us to access a wide catalog of magazines for a monthly subscription, in what seems like a movement aimed at expanding the number of services it offers today and those it plans to offer in the future.

Apple has already begun to make the first moves that will affect the operation of this service. As we can read in The Verge, the service has begun to send an email to all users announcing that the application will stop working on June 30, an announcement that we can also read on its website.

The Texture app for Windows had not been updated for a while so it should come as no surprise that the company has completely abandoned its development. The removal of the app from the Windows Store is presumably part of Apple's purchasing process as is the lack of updates.

As of June 30, the Texture application will disappear from the Windows Store so the only way to access this service will be through the mobile applications in which it is available such as iOS, Android and even in the Amazon app store for Fire models.

If you have the application installed on your Windows managed computer, this will stop working, without a doubt a very bad decision by Apple, since it prevents users with a Surface or similar from accessing the more than 200 digital magazines that this service offers us for $ 9,99. But if we take into account that this application is not available in the Mac App Store either, it seems that it is not a movement intended to harm these users, but rather that Apple wants it to be the only way to access it.

The monthly subscription to Texture gives us access to the main magazines such as Cosmopolitan, People, Better Homes and Gardens, Time, Bloomberg Businessweek, Forbes, Condé Nast Traveler, Allure, Billboard, Town & Country, ELLE, Good Housekeeping, National Geographic, Rolling Stone, Vogue and many more.
