The Unicode 14.0 release in September 2021 included new emoticons Worldwide. This update was planned for March 2021 but was delayed due to COVID-19. This new update included 37 new emoticons that amount to 112 if the different skin color variants of the different new emojis are counted. Unicode assured that devices would start receiving these emojis in late 2021 or early 2022.
