A few hours ago, Apple has launched iOS 9.3. The release has come when iOS 9.2.1 hasn't been publicly released yet, which makes us think it's coming soon (tomorrow?). Unlike the previous version that changed the first decimal place, iOS 9.3 will come with a lot of interesting news. As you will see below, it is true that there are some that will seem a bit limited (such as multi-user only for education), but all news will be welcome. In addition, Apple is promoting this version making us understand that it is an important update using the slogan that I have included in this article, something that we can find on their website.

iOS 9.3: a better experience every day. And night.

Perhaps, of all the news that will arrive in iOS 9.3, the one that has caught my attention the most is its bet on education adding applications developed by Apple. Along with iOS 9.3 will arrive new functions that will make it easier for schools to put devices where they have the greatest impact, which is no other place than in the hands of students. In addition, they tell us about the functions:

iPad Shared

This new feature is nothing more than multi-user support, as long as student content is accessed. When a student can't use their iPad, they can grab a partner's iPad, use their own Apple ID, and their personal content will be waiting for them. Smaller users will use simple accesses.

There is an option called PhotoID that lets teachers know which student is using which iPad.

Classroom app

Application classroom try to imagine what the school of the future would be like. Thanks to Clasroom, a student or teacher can launch the same app on all devices at the same time. Additionally, teachers can know what students are looking at at all times. If the teacher so wishes, he can block certain applications by remote control.

Instead of going to the board, a student would only have to use AirPlay for the rest of the class to see what you are doing on the big screen in the classroom. This will provide a lot of comfort and reassurance for shy students (although I am not sure that the latter is positive).

In addition, Classroom will allow you to reset to forgotten passwords, all from the same application.

Apple School Manager

Finally, Apple will launch Apple School Manager that will allow the same user to create Apple IDs and have access to everything necessary to manage the content that teachers and students will later use, such as buying and distributing applications and books.

Night Shift

Personally, whenever I see that an application has night mode, I set that option. Looking at screens with bright colors for a long time is not good for the eyes, as different studies have shown. Night Shift is the solution proposed by Apple, a new function that will change automatically the colors of the screen of our iOS device so that we can read better without so much hassle.

To make this change, the system will check where we are, what time it is and what time the sun will set where we are. In the morning, the color will return to its normal state.

Tip: there is a study that assures that looking at screens is also bad because of the closeness in which we look at them. Whenever possible, the rule of 20 should be used: look normally for 20 minutes and then look at a distance of about 6m (20 feet) for 20 seconds. In this way we will not spend so much time looking at an object that is at the same distance.

What's New in Notes

The Notes app is where we jot down a lot of our information. Sometimes we can write down PINs and information without noting what we mean in an attempt to hide important information, but now we can use the touch ID so that no one can see that information. It is true that if we open the application, anyone could see the data that we do not want to show, but the options are always welcome.

New features have also been included such as the ability to view a video directly from the article. On the iPhone, we can now read everything that interests us most horizontally. Also, now the news loads much faster.

Now it is much simpler to find third-party applications to monitor our health. It does so in, for example, a new slide-out menu available in categories like Weight or Sleep.
