Apple released the Betas 5 of all its operating systems yesterday. After testing them on different devices (Apple Watch, Apple TV, Mac and iPhone) the only update that has brought visible and relevant news for the user has been that of iOS 10, both in its version for iPhone and iPad. We tell you what these changes are, some of them simply aesthetic and others that do affect the way you are used to..
Forget the password for the App Store
Apple introduced the ability to use our fingerprint on devices with Touch ID to identify ourselves in the App Store some time ago. But until now, whenever you restarted the device, you had to enter the password again to be able to use the fingerprint sensor again later. In this Beta 5 Apple has chosen to allow that even if our device is restarted we can continue to use the fingerprint directly to download from its application store.
New sound for lock screen
Apple has introduced several changes to how the lock screen works throughout these iOS 10 betas, from allowing us to unlock without having to press the home button to introducing a sound and vibration when locking that it later removed in another update. In this fifth beta Apple has added a sound similar to when a door closes softly to lock the device, although the vibration has not reappeared.
Changes to the Widgets screen
If you look at the image it seems that nothing has changed, but take a good look and you will see that Apple widgets appear with a lighter background than third-party app widgets, like Fantastical. This is also attached to the date that appears on the widget screen on all devices.
Clearing facial recognition data
In iOS 10 Apple has added important new features in the Photos application, and one of them was the facial recognition that has always characterized iPhoto in the computer version. Now from our iPhone we will also have that option, and although the data will not be synchronized between devices, a shame, we can see which photos correspond to each person just by selecting their image. Well, all the data of this facial recognition has been erased in this fifth beta to start from scratchWe do not know if because there were bugs, or because Apple wants to do a complete erase to fix previous errors. Now the automatic system will start again to scare your photos to recover the faces.
New icon for AirPlay
Both in the Music application and in the Control Center tab dedicated to the current playback, Apple has modified the icon to transfer the audio to another device. Now it looks a lot like the AirDrop icon, only it has a triangle at the bottom. You can see it in the images right at the bottom of the screens.
Bug fixes and little else
In addition to these changes, there is a long list of solutions to known faults, both in interface and in operation. You will no longer have error messages when using the Smart Battery Case, the battery case for iPhone 6 and 6s that Apple released and that with iOS 10 it did not work correctly. Little else can be highlighted about this new beta that may be the last before the Golden Master, which could appear on the same day as the iPhone 7 presentation.
