Third-party Instagram apps are stopping working

Updated Instagram icon

Currently the official Instagram application is the only one that allows us to upload both photos and videos to the Facebook photo social network. Instagram policy does not allow any application, whether desktop or mobile version, to be used to update our account. But Instagram is what allows us to use third-party applications to consult our account, at least until yesterday. If you use any of the applications available in the App Store to consult our Instagram account and you are experiencing problems, you are not the only one. Quiet. But you should also know that you are going to have to stop using them because Instagram has turned off the tap on these types of apps.

The strict Policy on the use of the Instagram API has come into effect today and many of the apps are crashing. I have visited several web pages of the developers of third-party applications and in FastFeed we can read:

Instagram has made an important change in the policy of use of the API platform for third parties. As of June 2016, Instagram does not allow third-party applications to browse the Instagram account. Unfortunately our application is no exception and has stopped working on June 1.

But he is not the only one who has expressed his discomfort. Without going any further, the developer of Gramfeed has removed the application from the App Store much like Mixagram, as it also stopped working on June 1, when the new Instagram API policy went into effect.

As we can read on the Instagram developer website, all developers who want to use the official API must request permissions for their application to be reviewed before being sent that it is approved in the respective application store. There is no doubt that the idea of Instagram is to end all third-party applications for mobile platforms, but it has also turned off the tap on applications for Mac and Windows.
