In September 2015, those from Cupertino presented -at least- three interesting things: an iPhone 6s with its 12Mpx camera and 3D Touch screen, a 12.9-inch iPad and, what I personally found most interesting, a fourth generation Apple TV that came with the main novelty of an App Store. Yesterday, after the keynote in which they discussed the company's last financial quarter, almost a year and a half after its launch, Tim Cook said that new features will arrive to your set-top box.
Yesterday they asked the CEO of Apple if they had thought how they were going to spend the 200.000M $ they had accumulated in recent times, to which Tim Cook tiptoed saying that the Apple TV and Apple Music they are the beginning of the focus of growth that is taking place in the benefits that the subscriptions bring. He also said that the multimedia industry is currently undergoing a dramatic change, something that he believes will only "accelerate the expansion of cable."
"We have more things planned for Apple TV"
As for original content, we've dipped our toe in the water creating some original content for Apple Music and that will be coming out throughout the year. We are learning from it and will move from there. The way we participate in the changes that are going to take place in the multimedia industry - which I hope will accelerate the expansion of cable.
The CEO of Apple also spoke about the future plans of Apple TV, ensuring that he is satisfied with everything related to the latest generation of the company's set-top box and dropping that they have more things planned for him, without offering many details:
We started the new Apple TV a year ago, we are satisfied with how that platform has arrived. We have more planned for him, but he has come a long way in a year and gives us a clear platform to build on.
Most likely, we will know about Apple's plans for its set-top box this year. What will Tim Cook and company have in store for us?
