Tim Cook will travel to India to begin his expansion in the country

A few weeks ago the government of India modified the laws of the country to allow the Cupertino-based company start opening its first own stores in the country. So far the company had not obtained permission because the law stated that at least 30% of the devices sold in stores must have been manufactured in the country, something that is not possible at the moment, because Apple is manufacturing absolutely all its devices in China, at Foxconn factories, although the company intends to start shunting manufacturing to other countries so as not to be overly dependent on the country where it is increasingly facing more problems with the country's censorship, following the closure of iTunes Movies and the company's book store.

According to The Times of India, Tim Cook will travel to India this week to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as reported by sources related to the event. This will be Apple's first visit as Apple's chief executive officer. Apple wants to focus on the emerging market in India to try to solve the growing problem of declining iPhone sales around the world, especially in China, one of its main customers along with the United States.

Apple is not only facing problems in China, it is also having problems in India, where the government of the country, at the request of local manufacturers, does not allow the Cupertino-based company to sell second-hand iPhones in the country. Currently Apple has a market share in the country of 2%, a share that is too low for the aspirations of the company in the country, where the price of the company's flagship product is out of many pockets.
