Apple has updated the information of the Apple Maps this weekend to add to New South Wales, Australia, as the area where traffic information is available in the Apple Maps. From now on, the inhabitants of the area will have available new information on bus stations, trams and other types of public transport such as NSW Train Link, an Australian brand of what in Spain we know as «Cernanías».
Currently, Sydney and New South Wales are the only areas that support the road directions feature of Apple Maps in Australia. In total, Apple Maps offers traffic data in 16 cities more dozens in China (you have the complete list below), which is much less than the 16.000 where this information from Google Maps is present.

The Apple Maps transit directions came as one of the what's new in iOS 9, operating system that was launched in September 2015. Tim Cook and company have been updating this information and Flyover regularly, but in the case of transit directions it seems that it is going quite slowly.
In 2012, Apple removed Google Maps to include its own, a decision not without controversy. In September it will be 4 years since the launch of Apple Maps, which may seem like a long time for them to have improved enough, but that is 7 years less than the lifespan of some Google Maps they saw the light in 2005.
