TSMC starts production of the A11 chip for the next iPhone

While rumors about Apple's next iPhone 8 remain in the forefront of the specialized media, the main companies involved in the component manufacturing process start the machines. In this case we have TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) with the launch of its A11 chip production lines for the next iPhone from Apple. It is curious that in this sense there is no "discrimination" between an iPhone 8 and an iPhone 7s and 7s Plus for these 10-nanometer chips, so possibly having three iPhone models as has been rumored to date, they would have the same processor .

In any case, it is expected that by the end of this year 2017 the TSMC company will be in charge of the manufacture of more than 100 million chips for the iPhone, a figure that undoubtedly surprises and leaves us wondering if it will be able to supply Apple's lawsuit. Our memory is still fresh with what happened with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus and their Samsung and TSMC processors, something that Apple corrected last year with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus leaving TSMC as the main manufacturer.

On the other hand, it seems that some delays prevented TSMC from starting the production of these chips for the iPhone earlier, something that we hope does not affect the production of the devices. Now with the problems solved, the production of the 10 nm processors for the next generation of the iPhone is already underway and we have only be patient to see the changes in performance and consumption that are achieved with these new processors for the Apple device. In principle, there is a long way to go to see these processors in iPhones, but production has to start in advance so as not to fail when the assembly lines are 100% working.
