Tutorial: Downgrade from iOS 5 to iOS 4.3.3 (iPad 1 and iPad 2)

Tutorial: Downgrade from iOS 5 to iOS 4.3.3

Many of you already have iOS 5 installed on your iPads and iPads 2, if you have not tried it yet and want to do it here you have the explanation of how to do it.

The reasons for revert to iOS 4.3.3 It may be that some application that you use every day does not work for you or that you miss the untethered jailbreak.

After the jump we tell you how to return to iOS 4.3.3

It is very important not to have the Hosts file modified so that there is no error. If you have TinyUmbrella installed, go to the advanced options and make sure that the box to modify the Host is deselected.

TUTORIAL:

The first thing is to uninstall iTunes 10.5 and install iTunes 10.3 again.

  • You can download it here

When opening iTunes, an error will appear stating that iTunes Library was created with an earlier version.

You have to go to the Route where you have the iTunes music (generally My Documents in Windows), there is a file called iTunes Library. We remove it.
We download the iOs 4.3.3
iPad 2 Wi-Fi
ipad 2gsm
iPad 2CDMA
iPad

We enter DFU mode:
Press the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds
We release power but hold Home for another 10-15 seconds
In iTunes, a window will appear saying that an iPad has been detected in recovery mode.

In iTunes we press SHIFT + Restore (Alt + Restore on Mac) and select the firmware 4.3.3 of our device.

We hope that the process is completed and our device will be restored to iOS 4.3.3

NOTES

* If you want to load your backup, use an earlier copy than the ones you did with iOS 5, they will appear in a drop-down menu when you put "Set up as new iPad or Set up as iPad of" your name.

* It is not necessary to have the SHSH from 4.3.3 saved because Apple keeps signing iOs 4.3.3

* If you want to downgrade to a previous version you will have to have the SHSH saved and the Hosts file modified.

Hello, for this is not supposed to have the SHSH saved? is it fully operational to do this? If so, I will try iOS5, what I do not want is that later I can not download the version since Apple does not officially sign the downgrade for iPAD2 UNTIL WHEN will Apple sign 4.3.3? that's the important thing ... aaa and can I process a guarantee with the SAT by sending it in iOS5?

I will sign it until another firmware comes out
Probably until iOS 5 is September

I don't know what I did wrong that I can't go back, anyway the truth is that I have no problems with iOS 5, only on my iPad 2, it turns out that I can't sync all the photos I had previously and I need them for my work because I had some catalogs.

Any ideas ?? Thanks for your help.

Well, I just did it without any problem, as it says in the tutorial.
I have followed all the steps and everything OK, I also have an Ipad 2, the truth is that the IO5 Beta 1 is going quite well, I have had the occasional blackout of the ipad without touching anything, but otherwise everything is going very well, but I have decided to go down, for when the jail is able to do it.

Neither one way nor the other, I am fed up with copy and paste with incomplete information. It gives an error, although you can try to waste time ... Greetings

This tutorial is old, it only worked when Apple signed the Shsh of iOS 4.3.3
If you had read it correctly, you would see what it says in the last sentence. Previous versions.
The current one is 4.3.5 then the 4.3.3 is…. PREVIOUS!

Well, if Apple no longer signs the ios 4.3.3, what is the information for? Remove it !!!
