As you know, all Apple mobile devices have the same password to access by «SSH», which, if you use it regularly, may pose a risk to the security of your device; and it is as easy to solve as you are going to see below.
Needless to say, this tutorial is only for jailbroken iPhones, as it is the only way to have OpenSSH installed on your iPhone, iPod or iPad.
We will use "MobileTerminal » to be able to change it directly from our iPhone, we will have to install it from Cydia.
We also have to have installed «OpenSSH ».
- In MobileTerminal write «su root" (without quotation marks)
- It will ask for the password (password), write «Alpine»(It is the default password)
- To clean the screen type «cd«
- To change your password type «Passwd«
- Enter your password (what you write will not be shown for security)
- Re-enter your password one more time
And that's it, that's how easy it is to avoid getting upset, such as that a malicious user can remotely access our iPhone or that a malicious process ("virus") can run, since it will need this password; remember that there was already a "virus" for the iPhone that changed your wallpaper simply to demonstrate this security hole.
We had to move the server and the comments of the last hour have disappeared.
To the one who had asked me about mobileterminal that did not work: you have to download the version compatible with iOS 4
Are 4 comments missing?
Why doesn't the mobileTerminal work for me… I launch the application and after 2 or 3 seconds it disappears…. as if pressing the home button…. why does this happen ... it's like when an application doesn't work ...
Can someone help me ... thank you.
To clean the screen it is not cd, but clear.
Theirs would also change the password of the mobile user, right? Besides root, you can also enter with the mobile user and the alpine password.
Greetings.
One question, in its day I should have changed the password and the user, and I no longer remember, so I can never enter with programs like CyberDuck to the iphone, is there a way to reset this to have Root and alpine again and power change it again? 😀
All the best
We open the MobileTerminal
we write «su root» it will ask us for the password, it is «alpine» now with root permissions we write «passwd root» and it will ask us for a new password, we write it and hit enter, it will ask us again for the password, if we want to do the same with the account "mobile" instead of putting "passwd root" we put "passwd mobile" and the same.
To clear the screen it is "clear" not "cd" that is to enter a directory.
How can I change the iPhone password?
I forgot my password. How can I change it without restoring?
