With this tutorial you can release any iPhone, including iPhone 4S or iPhone 4, it works for now on all known firmwares (up to iOS 5.1) and you need to have the jailbreak done on your iPhone.
To achieve this, you must follow the steps described below, if it seems complex, don't worry, SAM will update soon to make the process much easier.
Tutorial:
1.- You must have the jailbreak done on your iPhone
2.-Install SAM from Cydia
You will find it in the repo repo.bingner.com
3.- Open SAM with the icon that you will find on the SpringBoard
4.- Enter the SIM of another operator
5.- Go to Utilities and select «De-Activate iPhone»
6.- Select «Method» in SAM and choose «By Country and Carrier»
Find your country and company (the original iPhone you have, not the one you want to unlock)
7.- Go to «More Information and copy the IMSI in« SAM Details »
8.- Press «Spoof Real SIM to SAM»
9.- Go back to the main SAM screen and change your method to Manual
10.- Paste the IMSI that you have copied before in its corresponding place
11.- Connect your iPhone to iTunes and allows its activation
Check that the ICCID parameter that appears in iTunes matches your SIM card, if not, you need to start from the beginning.
12.- Disconnect your iPhone and close iTunes
13.- Deactivate SAM (deactivating "Enabled"), or else uninstall it completely
14.- Connect your iPhone again and iTunes will give you an error saying that your iPhone cannot be activated. It is normal, close iTunes and reopen
15.- You already have your iPhone unlocked, the coverage bars should appear immediately
16.- If Push notifications stop working you can repair them using SAM, you just have to access and press «Clear Push» and then connect to iTunes.
NOTE: : the iPhone is free only for the SIM you have put in, it is not free for any company, if you want to change companies you must redo the whole process with the SIM you want to use.

The step-by-step tutorial did not work for me, but I managed to do the release. I had to improvise a bit and I'll tell you what I did to make it work for me. After I followed the steps in the itunes I got the message of invalid SIM, try several times uninstalling the SAM and restarting the iphone and nothing. It occurred to me to do the manual activation with SAM as it is normally done so that the notifications work (WildCardtivated) and the itunes recognized the iphone then I changed the IMSI that SAM puts for that of my SIM I closed the itunes and opened it again and I got the errór that the iphone could not do that if in the itunes it did not show me any info of the iphone to be able to verify the ICCID data, I closed the itunes, opened it again and voila… it was activated without using the GEVEY. Anyway, ssh in and save the / var / Root / ibrary / Lockdown directory for the future. I hope they don't despair and try like I did.

I knew that my iPhone came from Canada but not from which operator, I had always used it with gevey here in France and I decided to do it. The unlocking was done today August 28, 2012. After following the Itunes steps and said congratulations your iPhone is unlocked (or released from the emotion I do not remember) Now I update it to OS 5.1.1 and BB 04.12.01 and it was done without no problem. I have had my iPhone since February using it as an iPod and now I have a cell phone ... I saw this procedure in May but I said it was already closed that Apple had canceled it but I was left with the doubt these months I had nothing to do test and surprise it worked ... to the letter as I did if it works.
