Tutorial to Jailbreak iPhone 3G with version 2.1

If I already have the iPhone with the jailbreak 2.0 to go to 2.1, do I follow the steps indicated the same or do I have to do something previously? The firmware that is downloaded is the original apple ??? I suppose that later with the other program the same firmware is modified, right? Will I be able to use the iphone with the itunes and my vodafone sim? I have purchased an xsim that works well but the itunes does not let me do anything because it tells me that the sim is wrong and that I put the one of my operator (that is, the one from at & t) since it is American.

The tutorial is very good, I have followed it and made the 3G Jailbreak, it is very easy. In the end, the iphone screen stays with the QuickPwn pineapple for a long time. Tested it works.
PS: In the tutorial you would have to change the 5 minutes of pressing Home, for 5 seconds.

Checked and works perfectly. I do it on an Iphone 3g with version 2.1 already installed and without jailbreak. I connected it to iTunes and synchronized everything just in case before starting and then, I followed the steps of the tutorial and in about 5 minutes I already had the iPhone with the installer and the jailbreak and without having to synchronize anything since I did not delete any application or contacts or anything.

It's a little "scary" to see the first start after the jailbreak because it takes a while to turn on, but nothing, everything worked wonderfully.

I have been installing version 2.2 on a 2G iPhone that was on 1.1.4 and had previously been released with Ziphone.

Like many around here, at the end of the whole process (restoration to 2.2 with iTunes, jailbreak with QuickPwn), I had the fatal problem of NOT HAVING COVERAGE: a single line, without operator name, and without being able to call or anything.

After restoring and jailbreaking a couple of times, with or without SIM, with it having the PIN activated or not… in the end WHAT HAS WORKED FOR ME IS:

- Install 2.2 with iTunes
- Jailbreaking with QuickPwn, BUT checking RELEASE (it will ask for baseband 3.9 and 4.6, which can be downloaded from various sites).

By doing this, when the iPhone is restarted after QuickPWN, the BootNeuter screen appears that rewrites the baseband and when finished (it takes about 5 minutes or more), THE PHONE WORKS AGAIN.

I already know that theoretically updating 2.2 on an iPhone 2G does not touch the baseband or anything (or it shouldn't) but ... here is my case and it has worked after almost throwing myself out of the XDD window
