For a few days we have jailbreak untethered for iOS 6.x, but many of you have an iPhone 3GS (or 4) released with Ultrasn0w and you are waiting to update to iOS 6.1 so that ultrasn0w, the Cydia tool capable of unlocking some iPhones, will be updated to become compatible. In this way create a custom firmware with Sn0wbreeze or Redsn0w and update without uploading the baseband.
Well Musclenerd has already updated ultrasn0w, the tool for break free the iPhone by software, and is now fully compatible with iOS 6.1.
No new basebands have been added, so if your baseband was not releasable neither will it be now, the releasable basebands are 01.59.00 for the iPhone 4 and 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and 06.15.00 for the iPhone 3GS. If you do not have one of these basebands you cannot unlock your iPhone by software, you should think about unlocking by imei or looking for a unlock card compatible with your device.
You can check your baseband in Settings, General, Information, Modem Firmware.
You can download ultrasn0w en Cydia, you need to have done the jailbreakon your device and a baseband of the aforementioned.

It does not work on iphone 4 BB 01.59.00 the signal drops at all times and there comes a point where it runs out of service and does not catch a signal

I updated with a custom ios 6.1 to my iphone 3gs bb 6.15.00 and ultrasn0w does not work it keeps looking and then noservice ... it is worth more than I had the shshios5 and I downgraded with resdnow ... thank you very much for the contributions it is an excellent page ...

Hello! I have a 3GS, you know if the Redsn0w update compatible with iOS 6.1 is going to come out. Why doesn't sn0wbreeze activate the iPhone if you don't have the original sim right? And neither could the baseband be raised and lowered to release, right? Why to use evasi0n you have to have the iPhone turned on and without the tool to activate without sim there is no your aunt, right? Thanks!
the snowbreeze program creates a customized ios 6.1 etc ..., it keeps the database you have and of course if it has activation for the iphone 4 that does not have the operator sim which is tied to the device. SNOWBREEZE NUCA RAISES THE BASEBAND.

don't worry ... the baseband remains even if you go up to 6.1

I need help I have an iphone 4 with BB 01.59.00 I uploaded it today to ios 6.1.2 everything was fine until I noticed that I had no signal .. I installed ultrasn0w fixer for 6.1 and then ultrasn0w 1.2.8 but I still have the same problem the signal goes and comes back about 20 seconds and it loses again !!!
