The downloaded firmware must know where you have downloaded it: in a folder, on the desktop ..., wherever you want.

You have to press Shift (from computer) + restore (from iTunes) at the same time. then a window opens for you where you have to locate the firmware that you have downloaded. You select it and that's it.

Jam, normally only putting the original AT&T card solves that problem.
You should have it from when you bought it, as it is used to activate the iPhone.
If you do not have it, even if you finally get a service, I advise you to buy one, to have it for your 2g in case you need it one day. They are cheap on eBay.

- Restart the iphone with the card inserted

- Put it in airplane mode for a few seconds and then remove it (with the card inserted)

- I don't know if your card is old, the 32 KB ones give problems, try with another card from any family member or friend, even from another operator to see if you get coverage, if you take it, put your card later.
