How to use the emergency call in iOS 11

For a couple of days, the final version of iOS 11 has been available to any user with a compatible device. One of the novelties offered by this new version is found in the function that allows us to make calls to the emergency service in our country in a fast, discreet and simple way.

This emergency system is designed for when the iPhone user is in danger or has had an accident that prevents him from using the device in a normal situation. To activate it we just have to press the on / off button five times in a row.

When you press the off / sleep button five times, a new option called Emergency SOS will appear, an option that we will have to slide to start the call. But Apple has wanted to make things even simpler, something common in the company, and within the configuration options we can establish that the call is made directly by pressing five times on the off / sleep button. If we activate this option within the configuration options, when activating it, a countdown will appear on the screen of our iPhone, a countdown that begins at three and when it reaches 0 it will make the call.

In this way we avoid having to confirm the call by sliding our finger if we are in a situation of risk to our health. Within the configuration options of this option, Apple also allows us to add Emergency Contacts, where we can add which people to notify in case we have had any mishap. We can also remove the audible countdown warning when the automatic callback option has been activated.

In the iPhone X the procedure to make emergency calls is different, since we have to press the side button and the volume button together, instead of pressing 5 times on the off / sleep button.
