How to use "Wake Alarm" in iOS 10

bedtime

iOS 10 has shown us many new features compared to iOS 9, some more and others less important, but new at the end of the day. Many were presented by Apple at the WWDC in June but others have been discovered by users with the betas that have come out so far. One of these new features is included in the Clock application, it is called "Wake Alarm" and it works very very simply: You tell him the time you usually wake up and the number of hours you would like to sleep. The app will take care of the rest.

If you want to start using this new feature of iOS 10 to have a more or less stable sleep routine (if you follow the advice of the app), this is how you should use it.

Set the alarm

The first thing you should do is open the Clock application in iOS 10 e go to the central tab «Bedtime». Once inside, you will follow a process that will guide you through the steps that you have to adjust. The first thing will be the time you want to wake up and what days of the week do you want to do it. This allows you to create an alarm for the weekends where you probably intend to sleep more than during the week.

The next step will be to adjust the hours you want to sleep. You will also have the possibility to adjust how many minutes before going to sleep you want the notification to arrive that you should go to bed to comply with the established plan.

Finally you can choose the sound of the alarm (Radar it is always a good option to catch a mania for a little sound ...). That's it, you have configured your «Wake Alarm».

Other options

This new option of iOS 10 will also allow us some later customizations of the previously established. For example, the center circle shows you the set time to get up and the time to go to bed. By pressing on one of the hours, it will allow us to edit it at the moment, so changing the alarm for the next day is as simple as dragging your finger.

At the top we have the option to disable the alarm and at the bottom a summary of the sleep analysis carried out by the application. This iOS 10 option performs sleep analysis in a very very basic way thanks to the iPhone sensors.

On the other hand, you can also modify the volume of the alarm, if you like to wake up as if the firefighters were in your room, go ahead, but we do not recommend it.

Two things have happened to me with this application: 1- It has been started again by changing the configuration data, eg: changing the time I get up or changing the number of hours of sleep.
2- When I gave it to stop, the screen stayed fixed and unlocked without using the start button. In other words, the security system fails with this Application and anyone who had or stole my phone could unlock it. 🙁
    Has it happened to you?
