The arrival of Android Wear to iOS opens up a new world full of possibilities for those of us who enjoy wearing a smartwatch on our wrist. To the already known offers of Pebble and of course the Apple Watch we can now also add all the devices with Android Wear that appear on the market. However, to the differences that the platform itself has, we must add the limitations that Apple imposes on it by reserving certain functions for exclusive use with the Apple Watch. What is the experience of using an Android Wear smartwatch connected to an iPhone? We have tested the Moto 360, one of the most beautiful and successful smartwatches and we will tell you about it on video.
Android has managed to offer us something similar to what Pebble already does: an application for iOS that allows smartwatches with Android Wear to show us more than notifications. All third-party applications can send us those notifications to the Moto 360 (or any other model) but interaction with them is somewhat limited, except for those applications that Google has integrated perfectly with Android Wear and that do allow us some more advanced options, such as Gmail. The Google application allows us to interact with the notifications of new emails that reach us, not only by sending them to the trash or filing them, but we can even respond to them by voice dictation or drawing emoji that the system recognizes perfectly. However, we will have to choose which account we want to have these advanced options, because it only allows it with one of them.
Another great advantage of Android Wear over watchOS is the huge variety of watch faces or spheres (watchfaces as Apple calls them) that we have available. In addition, we can even download more from the Android Wear application for iOS, so that the possibilities of customizing our watch are enormous. However, the information they offer on the screen is quite limited. We cannot add "Complications", those small elements that the Apple Watch does have and that allows us to know our next appointment, the weather or sports information at a glance.
Lots of limitations but a good handful of features and above all a completely different offer both by interface and by available models. Android Wear for iOS is already a reality and this has only just begun.
Hi friends of actualidad iPhoneCould you tell me if the fantastic application works on the moto 360 when linked to the iPhone? Thank you so much
