Using Siri to turn options on / off

hey-siri

As we have said on numerous occasions, iOS 9 is an operating system that has introduced many small details. Two of them are the improved Spotlight, which is now simply called Search, and everything you have learned to do Crab. Among what our virtual assistant has learned there is something that surely many users are not aware of: the possibility of enable / disable some of the options operating system, such as power saving mode. Here are some of the options that we can modify by asking Siri in iOS 9.

What can I modify by asking Siri

iOS 9.3 will allow us to access some of these settings using the 3D Touch of the iPhone 6s / Plus. But sometimes it is better if we do not have to, such as when we have the iPhone locked. In that case, it's worth invoking the assistant with "Hey Siri!" and ask you to do it for us. For example, we may ask you:

  • Enable / disable Wi-Fi.
  • Activate / deactivate Airplane mode.
  • Activate / deactivate Do not disturb mode.
  • Activate / deactivate Bluetooth.
  • Increase / decrease the brightness of the screen.
  • Enable / disable Low Power Mode.
  • Activate / deactivate Mobile Data.
  • Turn VoiceOver on / off (thanks, @emadrida).

For example, I don't like to use the Low power mode. I like to think that my iPhone uses its full potential, so when I see the pop-up window that tells me that it has reached 20%, I cancel it as usual until iOS 9. But sometimes it is worth activating it, so If we are low on battery and we want to activate it, we will have to open the Settings application, enter Battery and activate it. Or we can say to Siri "Hey Siri, turn on Low Power Mode." The downside is that we will not be able to ask you to deactivate it because the "Hey Siri" function is deactivated when Low Power Mode is activated.

It must be recognized that, if we are using the iPhone with the screen on, activating / deactivating the first four previous settings will be easier if we do it from the Control Center, but to do the same with the last two, we would have to give ourselves a walk through phone settings. In those cases, it is clear that it is worth it. Do you know another adjustment that can be modified with Siri?
