Venture Kid, great game for iOS inspired by Mega Man

Last summer, Apple put Slayin as the app of the week, a game that I described as "good bad game." It's bad for the graphics and the simple controls; it is good because it entertains and amuses. This week, the same developer, FDG Mobile Games GbR has released a game also with 8-bit graphics and soundtrack, but much better than Slayin. Is about Venture Kid, a platform game that reminds us a lot of Mega Man.

Venture Kid is exactly what the games were like a couple of decades ago. The vast majority of the games were platforms, like Sonic, Mario or Mega Man. The difficulty of those games increased as we progressed, the same as now, but, at the same time, different. It is clear that this type of game may not be interesting for millennials, but it sure amuses all of us who play classic SEGA and Nintendo consoles, the consoles that were most used before the arrival of the PlayStation.

Venture Kid is a kind of homage to the "golden age" of video games. It is true that graphics and sounds are 8-bitbut they have been focused on the details and it is full of textures. The animations, of course, fast and fluid and the soundtrack that is also very careful makes us have the feeling that we are in the 90s.

Venture Kid has a total 9 Niveles. As in the classic games (almost all of them) we will have to go through one after another in order and, at the end of each one, we will have to face the boss of the level. The levels are quite long and there are difficult situations that will make us waste our time in them. Our mission as Andy is to prevent the wicked Dr Teklov Finish crafting your secret weapon in your space fortress. In addition to the main objective and as in any good platform game worth its salt, there are many secret areas that we can search and explore.

In Venture Kid there is two game modes: Normal and Hard. The normal thing in these cases is to choose the easy one first and then we put to the test at the difficult level, although the most skilled can start directly with the difficult level. I think it would lack the normal level that is the one that I usually choose in most games. For me, the difficult is to test ourselves and the easy is to play as a little walk through the game.

When we kill an enemy, it gives us glowing orbs that are the currency of the game. With these orbs we can buy objects such as extra lives, energy recharges, health, etc. We can access the store at any time by pausing the game. If we don't have the necessary orbs, we can buy via integrated purchase.

If we have a MFi remote, Venture Kid is fully compatible, which will allow us to make our experience Retro be even more faithful if possible. Although the touch controls work well, a screen will never measure up to the controllers that have been created solely and exclusively for gaming providing comfort.

If you are looking for a game like the old ones, you have to try Venture Kid. His price, € 0.99, is far from the price that games of this type cost 20 years ago, which, if I remember correctly, could have a price of around € 30 (5.000pts.)
