Vodafone SmartPass: pay with your iPhone quickly (without being from Vodafone and with a € 10 gift)

iPhone SmartPass

I've always said that Apple should have put NFC on the iPhone 5 and 5s, the payment with mobile it is a reality, especially for small payments. It no longer makes sense to carry a pocket full of coins to pay for a coffee or a subway or bus ticket.

Vodafone brings us an option to pay with our iPhone as if it had NFC, it works for anyone, even if they are not a Vodafone customer; and right now it's giving away a free € 10 top-up with your first top-up.

A few months ago Vodafone launched its Wallet service for mobile payments, only available to its own customers and for terminals with NFC, now it is launching into the pool of mobile micropayments expanding the service to all the mobiles of the world and everyone the clients, whether they are from Vodafone or not.

The Vodafone service actually consists of a Visa SmartPass card that can be attached to our iPhone like a little tag. This tag is a card Prepaid visa that you can recharge in seconds from the iPhone app itself, to always have money available for small payments without carrying cash.

Being prepaid you will have absolute control of what you spend. You don't need a bank account or a mobile phone contract with Vodafone. You simply request the card, add it to your iPhone and recharge it with any other card (or bank account) from another bank in just a few seconds.

In stores, you will now see that most of the POS terminals to pay by card have a symbol similar to that of the iPhone's WiFi, this means that you can pay just by bringing your iPhone closer, also for payments less than € 20 you don't even need the PIN. If a business is late, you can use a physical card that Vodafone sends you as well.

In both cases, you will see all your payments summarized in the Vodafone Smartpass app that you can download for free. Movements, resume, refills ... and all in seconds at the fingertips of your iPhone.

From the app you can also send money to other SmartPass users, so if you are having something with friends, you can pay for one and the others will send you your share using the Vodafone SmartPass application, easily and above all quickly.

Order your card now and get 10 euros free with your first rechargeIn less than 7 days you will have the card at home and you can start paying with your iPhone as if it had NFC. And if the next iPhone 6 has NFC, you can also use Vodafone SmartPass and you won't even need to add a label to your iPhone (what I have done is stick the label to the iPhone and put the case on top, it doesn't look like that).

In vodafone.es it says that the € 10 gift is only given to you if you register and make the first recharge before December 31, 2013

That is, they sell that it is more convenient to pay, recharge one card through another with the mobile app and then pay. Aham, ok, what an evolution !!!!

The download link does not work: Request label for iPhone - Vodafone SmartPass. Be careful when requesting the download of the App in the Apple Store that they charge you € 1.98

The application is free, as it appears in the appstore

The link is already fixed. The app is free and you can download it from here https://itunes.apple.com/es/app/vodafone-smartpass-es/id794500680?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D4

Most of the reviews of the app are bad, the information on the vodafone website is old (it talks about dates from December 2013, or April 2014) but nothing current.
Apart from the fact that it has a cost to have it, but all misinformed and wrong.
Does it also cost to ask for it? Using it?

Somewhere they have to charge you ... they will not give away cards for the love of art.

Emmm ... it's the same as paying with a contactless card but attached to a mobile, let's go XD

The news must be reviewed because there is nothing for 10,00.-Euros. The application website indicates that it is only for Vodafone customers… ..http://www.vodafone.es/particulares/es/descubre-vodafone/por-ser-cliente/wallet/?page=02

Send hue..s the one who has written the news, PAY WITH YOUR IPHONE says and it turns out that it is a debit card stuck to the mobile ... What will be the following, START YOUR CAR WITH THE IPHONE, and it will be a rubber for you to attach the key with the phone.

But what do you read? Do not confuse Vodafone Wallet with Vodafone SmartPass. http://www.vodafone.es/particulares/es/descubre-vodafone/por-ser-cliente/wallet/

It clearly states that it is totally free, that you do not have to be a vodafone customer and that they give away € 10 with the first recharge. And it is not a debit card, it is a sticker with NFC associated with a rechargeable card, so you do not need a bank account or anything. And yes, it is more comfortable, you recharge once and leave the card at home. You complain about everything.

Indeed, it is free, but when I downloaded it, € 1.98 was blocked in my account, which is not a large amount, .. but let them know. They are really two services that go hand in hand and are different, but when you put Smarpass the first thing that jumps out at you is the Wallet service
