watchOS 4 will improve the heart rate function

Along with the presentation of the new Apple Watch Series 3 and the discontinuation of the model presented just a year ago, Jeff Williams has highlighted some of the new features coming to users with watchOS 4 and that had not been announced before.

Those new functions or features include new functions related to heart rate monitoring as well as special notifications when the watch detects that the user's heart rate is abnormally high.

The Apple Watch as an instrument to monitor your heart rate

Apple is updating the heart rate app with a improved tracking and notifications. The data will be part of the "Apple Heart Study" in association with Stanford University.

The heart rate app will now display the resting heart rate directly on the watch face, as well as other information that will allow to have a better and more complete general information of the health of a user.

The updated heart rate app too will alert users when it detects abnormally high heart rate during rest. This will help users determine if they need to seek medical attention.

The improvements to this function of the Apple Watch is part of the "Apple Heart Study" that Apple has started in collaboration with Stanford University, as we already told you this morning in iPhone Update.

These improvements in the heart rate tracker application will be available for all Apple Watch models as part of the operating system update to the watchOS 4 version that It will be officially launched on September 19.
