On June 6, WWDC22 will begin, the great event for Apple developers of the year. In the opening keynote, Tim Cook and his team will present in great detail the new big apple operating systems for next year. Among those systems we find a mysterious iOS 16 of which substantial changes are expected in the notification system. Another unknown is watchOS 9, the next Apple Watch operating system of which very few rumors have emerged. However, we can get an idea of what its news will be. We tell you.
watchOS 9: an operating system that will continue to creep forward
The main news and rumors of the upcoming operating systems come from a post by Mark Gurman on Bloomberg. This is a well-known analyst and journalist with great information about Apple's environment and who usually refines his predictions. We already have an article in iPhone News talking about what is expected of iOS 16:
In the case of Watch 9 things are still the same but apparently the Apple Watch Series 3 will continue to be compatible. There were many doubts about whether this watch would be compatible with the new operating system. However, it is logical to think so if today Apple continues to sell it in its official website. So watchOS 9 would support all of these watches:
- Apple Watch Series 7
- Apple Watch Series 6
- Apple WatchSE
- Apple Watch Series 5
- Apple Watch Series 4
- Apple Watch Series 3
If we go to functionalities as such of watchOS 9 there is a long list of expected features. We are almost certain that Apple will create and introduce new spheres and new trainings as in each of its great updates. Some of those faces will be compatible only with the latest watches, among which the new version would be found when they launch it: the Apple Watch Series 8.
It is clear that another part of the update will be carried by the health functions. It is expected that there will be news about the cardiac monitoring. Especially in cases of atrial fibrillation where the rate could be controlled at a certain time, perhaps to prevent episodes or used as a Holter.
There are doubts about whether Apple will continue to work on satellite connectivity to be able to send text messages and emergency alerts without cell coverage. It is something that was already rumored last year with the launch of the iPhone 13. A Battery save mode in the purest iOS and iPadOS style. We already talked about this in iPhone News a few days ago:
Finally, expect a real sleep control mode beyond the news included in watchOS 8 in addition to new medication tracking features with which to have control of whether they are taking the pills or not as a reminder. We will finally see what is emerging in the coming weeks around the future news of watchOS 9 that will be released on June 6 at WWDC22.
