We already have the new Betas of iOS 15.4 and other versions

Apple operating systems for developers

Apple continues to make progress on the next big updates for its devices and we already have them available the second betas of iOS 15.4, watchOS 8.5, tvOS 15.4 and macOS 12.3.

Developers can now download iOs 2 Beta 15.4 (and the corresponding iPadOS 15.4) on their iPhone and iPad. These new versions include such important features as unlocking our iPhone using Face ID even when wearing a mask, without the need for an Apple Watch. Nothing will have to be done other than what we have always done with Face ID before the COVID-19 pandemic. New Universal Control is also coming to iPad, letting you use the same keyboard and mouse on your Mac to use iPad, as if it were an external monitor. New Emoji, iPhone ProMotion compatibility with third-party applications, the possibility of including the COVID Certificate in Wallet by scanning the QR code, improvements to shortcuts, iCloud Keychain... a long list of new features that we show you in this video.

Apple has also revealed the start of "Tap to Pay" support in this second beta of iOS 15.4. This new feature will allow merchants to use their iPhone as a payment terminal. They will not need any type of additional device, just by installing a compatible application on their iPhone SE it will become a "dataphone" that it will accept payments through Apple Pay from another iPhone, and also from any credit and debit card, as well as from other digital payment systems that use NFC technology.

The updates also come to the Apple Watch, with the watchOS 2 Beta 8.5, with support for the new emoji coming to iPhone and other performance improvements and bug fixes. We are not currently aware of any other major improvements to the Apple Watch. The most important novelty of tvOS 15.4 Beta 2 is the compatibility of WiFi connection through "Captive Portals", which are those generally public WiFi networks that to connect to them you must use a "web page" in addition to connecting to the network. For this, the iPhone or iPad connected to the same WiFi network will be used. Finally, Beta 2 of macOS 12.3 brings Universal Control to the Mac among other less relevant new features.
