Google has already introduced Android P, its next update to its operating system for mobile devices, and although there are no new features that are important, they did get some ideas from the competition, others of their own and they have improved them, achieving changes that are not very relevant but that will improve the user experience.
Gesture navigation that is inevitably reminiscent of the iPhone X but that has been taken further, improvements in do not disturb mode and other small changes such as time limits when using applications are some of these changes that In MacRumors they have already tried and that we show you below with video included.
Gesture navigation
It was one of the novelties of the iPhone X and one of the features that you miss the most when you take another device. With gesture navigation, switching between applications or returning to the main screen is much faster. Android P borrows this idea (which is not from Apple either) and improves it, allowing quick access to recent applications and the search bar.
Unlike as it happens in the iPhone X, that we can only quickly access the application immediately prior to the one we were using at that time, with Android P we can access all the ones that we had open quickly, as we can see in the video. By accessing multitasking we can even interact with applications without having to open them completely, to be able to copy text from one app to another, as well as access other relevant information by clicking on the application icon at the top.
Helps limit usage time
Using the mobile phone too long is a common evil of all of us who are always connected. And the first step to be able to solve this problem is to know exactly how long you use your device, and which applications you use the most. Android will now help you to know that data and thus be able to realize that you are spending too much time using social media or a specific game.
In addition to giving you the information, you can establish a time limit for each application after which you can make its icon change to gray tones, in order to be fully aware that you have reached the time limit that you have set yourself. It is clear that there will be those who will never use this, but many of us would like to know this data and thus be truly aware of whether we have to use our smartphone less.
Do Not Disturb mode improvements
Do Not Disturb mode was introduced years ago by Apple, and Android shortly after, but it still has a lot of room for improvement, and Android P adds a couple of details that are really helpful. One of them is to activate this mode automatically when you place your smartphone upside down.or. Yes, it is true that we can activate it with a single click by accessing the control center, but that gesture of placing the mobile face down on the table seems perfect to me so that no one automatically bothers you except the calls that you have configured as priority.
Other minor improvements
As I said before, none of these improvements is groundbreaking, but surely more than one would not see badly being able to use it with their iPhone in iOS 12. Other small changes are the improvements in landscape mode, or a new automatic brightness that varies not only with ambient light but with the time of day.. If you want to see these news in action, take a look at the MacRumors video that is very illustrative. Looking forward to seeing what Apple brings us in iOS 12.
For years I have hoped that Do Not Disturb mode can be programmed as an alarm: for days and hours.
All the best
The settings option is a cheeky copy of IOs !!!!
It is so much to ask Apple to include improvements in the subject of artificial intelligence, it has the NPU of the A11 but it does not take advantage of it, which Huawei does with its own processor, by including several improvements in this section, things that we are now seeing in The pure android, something that I liked were the new android gestures, especially in the bar below, where we all expected last year that there was the touchbar and in the end that strip was left with little use, google gave it a better use , I think it is another thing that Apple should improve and then let's see if it adds pro functions to the camera app for both photos and video
