What will happen to the iPhone 5c?

Iphone 5c

Tim Cook admitted during a post-iPhone 5c revenue conference that the sales of this terminal had been lower than what the company had anticipated. Currently the iPhone 5c enjoys an estimated market share of just under 9% In front of a 25.8% of iPhone 5s. With all these data, there are many who wonder; What will happen to the iPhone 5c when September rolls around?

Last year Apple changed its strategy and instead of keeping the iPhone 5 for sale, it created a new iPhone 5 under the plastic case of the iPhone 5c and catalog the product as "new" despite having the same components as the iPhone 5 of 2012. Such a move has brought analysts to a point of uncertainty regarding the future of the "c-range" at Apple. Some analysts state that iPhone 5c corrodes Apple's image while others argue that it is a smart move on the part of the company.

Another figure that we must take into account is the number of Android users who bought an iPhone 5c. According to Tim Cook, a 60% of users who previously bought an iPhone 5c had an Android terminal. This is a figure that is worth a lot even if we talk about a terminal that has not been very successful. It is not known with certainty the number of 5c iPhones Apple has sold since the company has not broken down its sales by type of iPhone. However, it is estimated that one has been sold every 3 iPhones 5s, the figure certainly seems supported by the market share that these terminals seem to have.

But What will happen to the range «c»? This year Apple is expected to present two new iPhones, a 4.7-inch model and a more striking 5.5-inch model. If so, the most likely thing is that the 4.7-inch iPhone will be the new iPhone 6 while the 5.5-inch model will be the iPhone 5s with the name 6c. The range "C" gives Apple a chance to experiment with models that cannot risk with their top of the range. Thus, although many iPhone 5s users want a larger screen, the majority I wouldn't be interested in a 5.5-inch screen that would radically change the way we use an iPhone. No, this type of iPhone seems more aimed precisely at Android users who have received the iPhone 5c so well.

Then, Will the iPhone 5s be discontinued? It is probable. It is likely that we will see the iPhone 5s in a 5.5-inch body, the body that we see today will disappear into oblivion and that Apple will adopt a new strategy where the "Old terminals" are refined with new plastic bodies and some additional features.

When Apple launched an 5 GB iPhone 8c discounting 50 euros on its price the company made it clear that it planned to continue fighting for this model despite its low sales. This offer does not seem to have seduced many who continue to see a very small difference between the iPhone 5s and 5c in terms of price due to the difference in benefits offered by one and the other terminal.

To this day we cannot know anything for sure but my bet for the future is that Apple will keep the C line to experiment and will choose to completely eliminate its previous models such as this year's iPhone 5s. What do you think? Where do you see the iPhone "c" going?

I think the 4s will be discontinued and replaced by the 5s as the entry-level iPhone and we will see a new 6-inch iPhone 4.7 as the top of the range with surprising materials.

The 5.5-inch iPhone is another story.

I think Apple will keep the 5c lower in price and leave it as an iPhone entry then there would be the 6-inch 4.7 would be the top of the range and the iPhone 5.5 really is a story that nothing is known yet, you really believe that Apple Will you risk the success of the ipad mini?

Little by little, Apple is desperately copying everything it can from the Android world: bigger screens, customization of keyboards with ios 8, etc. But the user is not willing to pay the savagery that Apple asks for its products, when it finds the same and better at much lower prices. I predict an iPhone 6 that will be like a 5 with a cm taller for 900 euros.

I believe and hope that Apple realizes its mistake, and totally withdraws or lowers the price of the 5c (and / or its successor). Apple is a company with an image. Apart from buying technology, users buy a "brand" and I at least demand a minimum of performance, finishes and features. An iPhone of 600 euros cannot be a piece of plastic whatever they wear. As I also say that 700 euros of the galaxy s on duty for another piece of plastic do not convince me.
Many say that Apple is an expensive brand but it is that all high-end mobiles are at the same price, 600-700 euros, only that some for me (iPhone 5s, HTC one ...) deserve that price.
Whatever Apple does this year in September, I just hope they don't go overboard with a mobile with an exaggerated screen (4.7 I see it well), that they continue to pamper the design to the last detail, that IOS8 and OSX continue to improve (they are on the right track for me with these new functions presented in the wwdc), and that they maintain the price of 700 euros (man if they want to lower it I will not complain haha) which is fine for a mobile that is supposed to be the best in the market according to them and for me if it is not at least compete among the best.

So desperately have they copied others that just take a look at ios 7/8, a crappy copy of android and windows phone.
Apple was, in the past, an image company, after what they have done with ios 7/8 and the iphone 5c, it is just one more of the bunch.

Well, to my iOS 7 it seems wonderful, and the changes that have been made in iOS 8 for developers (I am a computer engineering student) as well. The iPhone 5c if I admit that I do not understand what they were trying to do with it, maybe they wanted to try new materials or I do not know, it does not seem like a launch worthy of Apple.
I have to say that Windows Phone I have not had the opportunity to test it thoroughly, but Android for me is the Windows of mobile phones, it is an OS made to install on any machine. Normal that it is not as optimized as iOS, although I also tell you that making an OS based on Java is a total shit because of how this language works.
Let's see what they do this year at the end of the summer, I'm going to trust them, I hope they realize that the iPhone has to evolve as Android and Windows Phone have evolved, which in recent times have done so impressively.

If iOS or OSX does not work on any computer, it is because Apple does not want it, not because of components, or performance, simply compatibility. Hackintosh a pc, see what happens. It is a stable system because it is made and designed for your systems.

          1.    energyfilmsnnRg said

I have already had a hackintosh with iAtkos, but no point of comparison. Apple designs for specific components and that is much easier. Windows has to support many more sets of processor instructions, graphics ... Apple doesn't, and it shows in performance (at least in Photoshop, after effects, ableton live ...).
As for stability, I have at least had a bad experience with crashes without much sense to me, although it depends on the configurations of the pc of each one.
With iOS more of the same, and that is why with less memory, less processor gains in user experience to Android, apart from the fact that the thread that manages the graphical interface is the one that runs with the highest priority.
It is not bad, they are just ways of making different devices, focused on different users.

Nobody has thought that the 5,5 could be made of plastic to make it cheaper and put it on a par with the 4,7, it would be a good strategy, don't you think?

It hurts me to say this, but I feel like the Apple that I wanted went with Steve ...

It all depends on what you want, if you want a terminal with low-quality parts, without excellent finishes and with a very sensitive operating system, then buy an android like the famous Samsung Galaxy, which cost relatively the same price as an iphone but they are not able to meet the high standards of apple products.
I think Apple is on the right track with iOS8 and with the idea of a 4.7 terminal

    1.    Aitor said

HA HA JA But what do you think is Apple's idea to enlarge the screen? It is a question of demand neither more nor less. That iOS 8 is on the right track? Of course, if they allow customization, they will give the jailbreak / android a cut, if not, there will be more promises of stability and battery life that disappear with the smoke when they are coviented in iOS GM.
Regarding the components ... If it is a low quality mobile, rest assured that it is not worth € 700, like a bq E5 or a xioami red rice, € 150 with old components, not of poor quality as you say.

And what would happen then with the 4s?
It is a terminal whose size attracts many people who continue to see the large 5 range and I do not want to tell you what it will be like when the 6 comes out.
Do you think they will remove the 4s?
