It seems that from WhatsApp they are pressing the accelerator for the end of the year. There are dozens of small updates and new functions that are being tested in the beta of the app for both iOS and Android. A few weeks ago the sticker creator in WhatsApp Web and a new design when it comes to recording voice messages in iOS. That same design based on the appearance of sound waves according to our voice message now comes to the reproduction of these messages in a new interface that WhatsApp is testing in its beta for iOS.
WhatsApp tests a new design in its voice messages in its beta for iOS
The new integrated design a few weeks ago made appear a spectrum of sound waves simultaneously to when we were recording a voice message. Those waves were moving according to our tone of voice. Nevertheless, It seems that WhatsApp wants to bring that same design based on waves in motion to the reproduction of all audio messages.
This feature had already been tested by WhatsApp half a year ago but removed the feature in the next beta version. However, the arrival of the beta 2.21.240.18 via TestFlight for iOS has brought back the sound waves in the playback of voice messages.
As you can see in the image that heads the article, the new interface eliminates the continuous line that we currently have when we reproduce a voice message. It is therefore changed by a dynamic sound wave that is in line with the tone of the message that we are reproducing. As they say from BetaInfoEven with the beta installed, this new interface does not always appear. It only appears when the other person has the beta and has the active function. We will see if WhatsApp finally releases the change globally or they are only tests to continue advancing in the development of new functions for the app.
