This time the novelty comes from the desktop app beta. The new feature allows users view WhatsApp status directly from the chat tray no need to click on the “States” tab.
These states came to the application a few years ago imitating Instagram stories, and previously Snapchat stories, which were so popular among users. However, they did not catch on as much as the WhatsApp team expected, but they are still available and their use is becoming more and more evident.
This novelty it will make access to the states possible by pressing on the profile picture of a certain user. If you press on the profile picture, we access the states. If you click on the box where we have your message and your name, we will access the chat. There are doubts as to whether with this WhatsApp wants to eliminate the States tab in the iOS and Android versions, thus leaving space for the Communities.
