Some time ago when Yahoo was at the top of technology companies, it was a reference website and many users had an email account with their domain. But for a while now, it seems that Yahoo has not been able to adapt to the environment in which it lives and has been relegated to the background, becoming a temple of wisdom with Yahoo Answers, because of Google and Microsoft with their excellent email services.
Yahoo announced yesterday that On June 15, it will stop supporting older devices based on iOS and OS XTherefore, users will no longer be able to automatically synchronize the emails and contacts that we have stored in our company email account. This change affects both the Yahoo Mail application for iOS and the Mail application that Apple offers us natively. Likewise, if we have an old version of OS X, we will not be able to continue synchronizing our contacts with the agenda of our Mac.
Contrary to what has happened with the Google YouTube application, which has stopped supporting devices that have a version of iOS 6 or lower installed on their devices, Yahoo will stop supporting the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch that are managed by iOS 4 and earlier versions. The main reason for this decision by Yahoo is to focus on a secure and functional service. If you have a device with iOS 4 or lower, you will still be able to access the mail service through mail.yahoo.com.
As for Mac devices, Yahoo will stop offering support for syncing both emails and contacts in versions prior to OS X Lion 10.7 in order to continue offering a safe and fast service, features that it cannot continue to offer in older versions. Users of previous versions will be forced to update their version of OS X whenever possible if they want to continue receiving support, or access directly through the Yahoo! website.
