ultrasn0w 1 0 1 e1290981200935 Tutorial to unlock iPhone 3G / 3GS with Ultrasn0w for iOS 4.2.1 from Windows

Many people are following the tutorial that we have published this morning with iOS 4.1 instead of iOS 4.2.1, thus achieving an untethered jailbreak on iPhone 3GS with new bootrom, the process is exactly the same, only when selecting the firmware from your iPhone you select iOS 4.1

Attention: I only recommend this tutorial to people who have the iPhone in a drawer for having updated and who need the release to use it, do it at your own risk, you will modify the baseband, which has no reverse gear and is easily detectable by Apple; also from now on it will give you an error every time you want to update to an official firmware, you can only update with Custom Firmwares.

Do not do this process in a iPhone 4 or you run the risk of spoiling it. ONLY FOR IPHONE 3G and 3GS

With that said, we start:

If you have one of the following basebands you don't need this process, just install ultrasn0w from Cydia:

04.26.08

05.11.07

05.12.01

05.13.04

06.15.00

You will only need it if you have:

05.14

05.15

You will need to redsn0w 0.9.6b5, download it here.

Download the IPad 3.2.2 IPSW by clicking here.

and the iPSW 4.1 of your iPhone, download it here.

The rest of the tutorial is here.

What a botched liberation. For this, it is better to ask Movistar to release the iPhone.

IT IS EASY !!!, tell Redsnow k don't install the cydia, because they just want to upload the baseband, to release ... (of course, if you already have the cydia installed) ...

  3.   Moises said

    This rather than a solution is a sloppy ... step 4.2.1 ...

  4.   juampi83 said

You do not need the IPSW of the Ipad, do not download 400MB at all! Redsnow fetches the baseband from Apple servers automatically.

I already downloaded the new redsnow 9.6.b5 I have my 4.1 firmware at hand and I work on a vaio laptop with a view.
then I would only have to mark the option to upload the bb to the ipad and then from cydia install the ultrasnow and everything is correct or I am wrong in something.

One question: I have done it with several iPhone 3GS and they all work perfectly. They are in 4.1, both enabled and blocked for emergency calls. The problem comes to me with a 3G, it was in 3.1.3 with baseband 5.14.02 because I downgraded it from 4.1 to 3.1.3 I do it with normal redsn0w and it stays when the pineapple runs already at the end on the iPhone screen , restarts and remains in restore mode. Grab it and update it to 4.2.1 only and did the same with Redsn0w and nothing, same problem. Try this to load the iPad first and then the iPhone 3G 4.2.1 as mentioned on another page and nothing ... stays in restore mode after getting stuck in the pineapple logo running after the Redsn0w process. I would like all the possible help.

    Thank you!!!

for those who do not get out of recovery mode with bb 6.15 I restored with fw 3.1.2 when it gave me error 1015, close itunes and in task manager I ended all itunes processes. Then I passed him the blackra1n, and he revived.
After Cydia closed itself and what I did was pass it this time redsn0w 0.9.4 and finally almost ready, the rest is easy, install ultrasn0w 1.2 to have my iPhone alive and functional and I think I leave it for a long time hehe

    Hello everyone,

We are going to see boys / girls, despair or restlessness often causes catastrophes, in addition to leading you to a completely wrong path.

I suppose that they follow pages like Dev-Team Blog, iClarified, iPhoneros, etc (some in English) to read carefully, the how, why, why NOT, and why YES and when to do the JailBreak (install Cydia) and do the unlock (install UltraSnow inside Cydia and run it).

    There are two cases:

    A) the one with your iPhone 2G / 3G / 3GS / 4G Free of origin, free by IMEI
    B) the one who has his iPhone 2G / 3G / 3GS / 4G blocked, contract, prepaid or whatever.

The problem is found in case B), since the others can do whatever they want with their terminals, update (upgrade) or de-update (downgrade).

Instead of starting to do something, anything, you should ask a friend who knows about these things, or who has done them before and knows what the topic is about:

    1. If you need to update the firmware, that is the version of the operating system:
    be: 1.1,…., 3.1.3, ……, 4.1, ……, 4.2, ……… or… ..4.2.1 knowing the advantages and disadvantages of each one.
For example, if you have an iPhone 2G, or iPhone 3G, which is already very slow, DO NOT put 4.0, or even 4.2.1 since you are going to "finish" it, everything will be slow, and also you are NOT going to get it Match to HDR from your camera, or GameCenter, or folders. The best is 3.1.3.
But if you have an iPhone 3GS or 4G 4.0.1 is highly recommended, for example where they would continue with their original 1.59 baseband (modem version) that is unlockable.

    2. If you need to ONLY update your operating system (firmware) to the latest (4.1) save your old baseband version (iPhone: 3G with 5.13, iPhone 4 with 1.59) using a program called TinyUmbrella (apart from a few settings with Terminal de Mac / Win Console)
What this program does, apart from saving the baseband version, and protecting it during the upgrade to a higher firmware, is to trick Apple's server, redirecting data through Saurik's server (creator of Cydia).
But of course, if you want to have the latest firmware 4.2.1 you should know that you MUST have a superior baseband (Apple has introduced this requirement) and then, you will have the latest firmware 4.2.1 but it would block your phone, updating along with the firmware also the baseband.

    3. If you need to ONLY unlock your phone to use any SIM / microSIM.
This is where things need to be clarified.
    The following basebands are ALREADY unlocked: 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and 01.59.00.
They should see if it has this version, then use TinyUmbrella, save the baseband, and update the firmware to 4.1 ONLY, period, no more.
They will have unlock, update and SECURITY.

If otherwise you have any other version like 5.14, 5.15 and 2.10 then you are in a "black hole" since backwards you CANNOT go back and lower your baseband to an unlockable version, and the only thing left is to go forward.

    Summary:
    If your iPhone 3G / 3GS has the baseband 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04
then you can ALREADY unlock with Cydia / UlraSnow

If your iPhone 4G has the baseband 01.59.00
then you can ALREADY unlock with Cydia / UlraSnow

If your iPad has the baseband 06.15.00
then you can ALREADY unlock with Cydia / UlraSnow

But what the DevTeam proposes is UPLOAD the current baseband to that of the iPad.
    For example:
Your iPhone 4G has 2.10 and it raises it to 6.15, then there is NO going back, since you will NEVER be able to return to your baseband 2.10, and you will NEVER be able to use iTunes again to officially restore your iPhone 4G to sell it for example.

The only thing you'll win is unlocking your iPhone, but EVERYTHING else is a downside.

You will be TIED FOR LIFE to a "pirate" or "custom" update, that is, firmware built from the legal ones, but modified to be able to put them on your modified iPhone. That, unless Apple is going to release another superior version of baseband in 2 days, but even so, it would take years to go up from 2.10 to 6.15 or even higher, in which case, your iPhone would return to "legality" .

    For example:
Raising the baseband of the iPhone is like welding on your car a metal plate that says: "This car is valid from 2014" but putting it now and using it NOW will only give you problems, since you will not find parts, technicians, materials and updates, until that date arrives…. to see if you understand me… ..

If your iPhones are from Movistar, it would be better to unlock it by IMEI, since it costs money, but it takes away problems.
If your iPhone is on a contract, then wait for it to run out, and then Apple will release you for FREE.
If your iPhone is from Vodafone, Orange, Yoigo, or I think well what you are going to do.

But you always have the option of putting a SIM (contract / prepaid) that corresponds to the locked iPhone to be able to use it, whatever the company, unless you like to use your iPhone as an iPod Touch.

    Good luck to everyone.

What an explanation you have worked Ghost 😉

  35.   Eagle said

@Ghost - The best explanation ever given since Ultrasnow came out on Sunday.

I am in the black hole you are talking about, with an addition: my 3GS is a replacement and all the IMEI release companies that I have called tell me that only the original purchased can be released, not the replacement one (fuck it). And I happened to update with this release because when he wants to sell it the new owner will not be able to "restart" the machine ...

  36.   Polar said

That is, being my moviestar mobile, with jail, I put a prepaid moviestar card and it will work?

  37.   Ghost said

    Of course.
But it only remains to deactivate the option of 3G and Itineracia.
What I usually do is deactivate EVERYTHING except the phone to save energy on the iPhone4, and using SBSettings (a menu added from Cydia that has several switches) where you add: 3G, Data, Tethering (share Internet), Bluetooth, Wifi, Location, Processes , Brightness, Backgrounder (turns off all open applications in multi-task) and you have it accessible within any application, simply slide your finger over the taskbar (where is the clock, Operator, network signal, wifi, etc. )

In this way it will NOT use energy, and apart you can easily activate and deactivate the options you use or stop using.

About using an iPhone 3G / 3GS / 4G with a prepaid card: you only deactivate the 3G / Data option, since not having an activated data plan would increase the cost per connection, but EVERYTHING else you can use perfectly, Since it is still a phone, and also with the option of FaceTime (video call) you will only need WiFi, since it is free, but it will only charge you balance at the time of activating the function from Settings / Phone / FaceTime.

Be careful with deactivating it, since every time you activate it they will charge you money again, but if you activate it once and leave it like that, it has only charged you that time.
Another detail: each number (SIM) needs to activate the service, since it does not work, for example, to put a SIM with 650 *******, for example, activate FaceTime and then change to another SIM with 651 ***** * and keep FaceTime activated. It is activated only once with that SIM and it is left like that, to be able to send and receive FaceTime, apart from how Apple now offers FaceTie applications for Mac and PC, it will be better and cheaper than using a conventional call.

Note: If you ask any Movistar operator about whether it is possible to use an iPhone 4 with a prepaid card they will tell you that it is IMPOSSIBLE, but they are wrong, it can be used perfectly only that it is expensive if you use the 3G connection, only that. Aside here it cost me a change from Movistar prepaid normal SIM to Movistar prepaid microSIM 12 euros, but if you don't want to pay that, you can always use scissors and an Internet template.

Bad idea from then on I couldn't get my iPhone out of RecoveryMode, I had to downgrade it to iOS 4.1 keeping the BB 6.15 and with TinyUmbrella remove it from the blessed RecoveryMode to Jailbreak again with Redsn0w and release the BB with Ultrasn0w .. So far perfect .. My problem is that I want to update to 4.2.1 and I can't get a way, it is that this iOS improved a lot in speed compared to 4.1 to the iPhone 3G .. Here are several issues to clarify:

    1 º
The "disappearance" of the GPS on iPhones in which the baseband has been modified to 6.15 has already been confirmed on several pages.
Possibly (in my opinion) it has something to do with the iPad firmware used during the creation of the custom firmware to put it on the iPhone.
That means that the firmware of the iPad that does not have 3G and therefore does not have GPS has possibly been taken, hence the GPS will work for some users afterwards and others will NOT.
Otherwise, if the iPhone's iOS 4.2.1 does not correctly detect the internal GPS module, due to some internal conflict between versions: baseband 6.15 and GPS 4.2 module (to say the least) that is no longer fixed.
As Dev-Team indicates, when uploading the baseband you must assume that you are going to lose the GPS.

2º After using iTunes to restore / update the iPhone, without putting Cydia (Jailbreak) you can perfectly use ALL the settings inside the iPhone: including ALL the ways to restore the settings (Settings / General / Reset): Restore Settings, Delete contents and settings, Restore Network Settings, Restore keyboard dictionary, Restore home screen, Restore location alerts.
But, after putting Cydia (do the Jailbreak) they will no longer be able to use: DELETE CONTENTS AND SETTINGS because the internal system is altered by Cydia, and by doing so they will remain in recovery mode, since the internal system after restarting to erase EVERYTHING, unable to restart, due to Cydia.
You could try to remove the iPhone from Recovery Mode (Recovery Mode) with TinyUmbrella, or iRecovery, but surely, there is no way to remove it from recovery mode because there is no operating system installed (iOS) and from there you would have to put it in DFU and restore it back to an original / modified firmware.
We always recommend using modified firmware as they allow you to add settings and content along with the firmware: activate phone, multitask (3G), wallpapers (3G) add Cydia, repos (Sources) and applications, all together.
Otherwise, once the official one is set, you have to activate the iPhone with a valid SIM, then put Cydia (Greenpoison, Blackrain, etc) then put Ultrasnow, then add Repos, then
find and install applications: Activator, SBSettings, Backgrounder, iFile, etc.

    3 º
For those who have an iPhone 4 with baseband 2.10 (which they have updated to 4.1 official in its day and have changed the baseband to 2.10, instead of using TinyUmbrella and keeping their baseband 1.59 to go up to 4.1 official)

Well bad news, since they can NOT downgrade, and they can not release 2.10.
After having several (6) iPhone 4 with 1.59 that is unlockable and I uploaded them to 4.1 right now I can not put 4.2.1 since it does not leave me with this baseband.
Personal note: It is as if Apple is annoyed that I have my iPhone of € 600 FREE to be able to put the microSIM that I want, and it forces me to upload baseband (lose the unlock) to have 4.2.1.
    _
Therefore I have NOT done it yet, and it is a shame, it is true, but it would be worse to update to 4.2.1 and change my baseband to a higher version NOT unlockable or worse to upload it to 6.15 (the iPad) and lose the GPS ( surely) and the Warranty, just to be able to unlock it.
I mean, at the moment I would NOT do that on the iPhone 4, going up to 6.15.
    _
Another thing would be to do it on the iPhone 3G that is already old, and overall, if you sell it, it doesn't matter, you sell it free, with whatever baseband. Its "useful" life has already passed, since as you will have seen the new versions of iOS 4.0 to higher are NOT highly recommended for the "slow" 3G, which is already struggling to be up to date. (Don't ask the elm bitches)

As for the iPhone 4, the decision is difficult, but before "jumping into the void" without a parachute (there is no turning back) and change the baseband for a non-existent one and charge the iPhone 4 completely, better to put a SIM on it than tap (iPhone Vodafone = SIM Vodafone) and see what happens.
    _
    My big IDEA:
My great hope at the moment is to be able to GET DOWN from Baseband IN ANY WAY.
That is, you put the OFFICIAL APPLE firmware using iTunes, forever, and without touching the firmware, you modify the baseband of the iPhone to be able to unlock.
Example: iPhone 4 iOS 4.2.1 with baseband 1.59.
As in many cases we can change the IMEI (it is illegal) or the MAC address of a router (it is illegal) I wait for the option to download, and eventually to modify the baseband.
    _
Meanwhile to buy prepaid microSIM / SIM cards to use the iPhones.
And as for people who still pay monthly VOICE + DATA to take an Android (that's what I have done) so while you wait for the iPhone, it makes the wait more enjoyable.
    _

    About IMEI Unlocking of iPhones:
It turns out that Apple has a complete list of ALL IMEIs that they offer to a certain operator. Let's take the example of Movistar (this is the case that I know of).
At the moment that the 18-month contract with the iPhone you have ends, Movistar is obliged by law to unlock your iPhone, but of course, you ask for it, and what Movistar does is ask Apple that that IMEI (yours) he has fulfilled his contract and is therefore free.
Next step you only have to connect your iPhone to iTunes and in a minute you will receive a message: Your iPhone has been unlocked, similar to the one that indicates that the SIM activation has been carried out, when it is done for the first time.
    _
Another case is that of those who release iPhones by IMEI (there are a few stores, and online services). What they intend is that they calculate the Apple unlocking code based on the user's IMEI, but at no time do they intervene in the Apple server to perform the unlocking, which would be done by paying an amount of money of € 50 to € 80.
In most cases the unlocking by IMEi works perfectly, but I also know two cases in which they paid for the unlocking by IMEI in a store in the mountains, and everything was fine, until I updated an official firmware with iTunes, the baseband and I let myself be free (it was and still is from Movistar). As it is an iPhone 3G and did not want to pay again for the IMEI, he did it for free with the 6.15 baseband.
    That is all for today.

HELP AYUDAAAAAAAAA does what happens to me? It turns out that everything went wonderfully for me because I did everything with a CUSTOM, everything works perfectly, I have done it on 2 devices in 3g and 3gs new bootrom (obvious in 3gs with 4.1) well the issue is that I wanted to try my GPS location today but it doesn't give me an exact point! In neither of my 2 devices, I lowered the MOTIONX GPS to see the signal and nothing did not connect as if the GPS had disappeared from the face of the earth !!! Does it happen to someone?

    Hi, how are you.
I have a question, if I update my iPhone 3GS to 4.2.1 and my phone is legal, it is from telcel.
and with the redsn0w, I select my original iOS 4.2.1 and just select the option to install cydia and do the whole process, in the end I will have cydia on the phone without problems?
I am looking forward to your response.
    Thank you very much.
    Greetings.

Remember that here we only put comments, it is not a Foo, but hey….

    We will answer your questions:

    Hi, how are you.
    You:… .cutting… .. »my phone is legal, it is telcel.»

Me: I suppose that by «legal» you mean ORIGINAL firmware obtained from iTunes and by «is from telcel» you mean that it is blocked with that company: TelCel (from Mexico)

You: If I update my iPhone 3GS to 4.2.1 and with the redsn0w, I select my original iOS 4.2.1 and I just select the option to install cydia and do the whole process, in the end I will have cydia on the phone without problems?

Me: From what you say I suppose you mention the option to use Pwnage (program to create modified firmware) since you mention "select my original iOS 4.2.1" and then you mention "I just select the option to install Cydia" that means that you know how to use Pwnage.

Answer: Indeed, if you build your modified firmware from an Original one (that's what we all do) and you only add the option to place Cydia next to the firmware, once the firmware that you would use to restore your iPhone from iTunes is built, it works perfectly. , both the iOS 4.2.1 operating system and Cydia.
But, as you mentioned that it is «legal, from Telcel» you can deactivate the Pwnage option of: Hacktivate, since once you restore you will use the same SIM to activate the phone.
About Cydia, if you don't want to do all the "work" of building a firmware alongside Cydia, you can try the methods of simply adding Cydia on top of your legal iOS using: Greenois0n, Limera1n, Spirit, there are versions for both Win as for Mac.
There is another method called: Jailbreakme.com but then I will tell you why NOT to use it.
As I mentioned before, it is advisable to use this method (Pwnage) over another such as using the JailBreakMe.com website, which no matter how simple and "fast" it may be to use this method (lately and less compatible) what it does is modify the home page of the iPhone (Apple Logo when starting the iPhone) and from there it adds some very unpleasant little lines, as if the screen were scratched, or with dead pixels, and it does so in 3G, 3GS, and 4G. Recently I checked again about the "rallaitas" in a 3G with baseband 5.14 with 4.1 that I have lowered to 3.1.3 to gain speed and when testing the Jailbreakme.com 2.0 page it took longer than normal, but it managed to put Cydia in the 3.1.3 with bb 5.14 but it left me on the home screen (the one with the apple) three horrible stripes (not a defect, they are just displaced image lines) and in the end I had to use Pwnage to build 3.1.3 + Cydia .

Just one paragraph, jailbreak me only works up to iOS 4.0.1
And even if you don't like it, it's probably the cleanest jailbreak ever.
I can tell you that I have used almost all of them and like Star (jailbreakme) there are none.
      .
PS: it is true that there are little lines when you start, but Carmen de mairena could leave for me, who would continue with him (I am still in 4.0.1)

    Hello Gnzi

    Glad you like JailBreakme.com
About the "rallitas": it is a bit uncomfortable to explain to a customer who is going to pay € 500 for an iPhone 4G or € 200 for an iPhone 3G that are free but have some "rallitas" that they should not worry about.

About my previous post, after restoring with 4.2.1 next to Cydia, it turns out that you can place the Sources you want, in addition to checking the options to install Cydia, activate Multitasking (multi-task) and Wallpaper ( home desktop background) for 3G, in addition to Activate phone (if you do not have a SIM from the operator that currently belongs to the phone at hand before releasing it), but then you should use Redsn0w 0.9.6b5 (Win or Mac) to restore write the Cydia installed by the new version that is compatible with 4.2.1 where then we must install the Ultrasn0w version 1.2 to release our iPhone 3G (in this case) with baseband 6.15.

hi i know how to get out from recovery mode when you are stuck after update to 6.15.00 !! but i think that i´m the only person that knows how to do it i had a look in the internet and nobody knows how!
Is really easy but you have to use the exactly softwares and step by step procedure !! contact my email and i will tell you how to do it! but unfortunatelly i will ask you for a small paypal transaction before i will send you the email with the process you have to do! I´d been stuck on recovery mode a week and yesterday i found the way to do it!
after a tired week! sorry about my english!
if it does´t work i will give you back the money! I'm asking for 10 pounds! is not a really expensive value!
And this is not fake! i´m an honest guy!

Hi Carlos, ask for money in a page where we do the same for free isn't honest.
I actually know how to do almost everything about jailbreak, probably the same (or even more) that you do.
And I'm doing it for free everyday here.
Probably if I ask for one cent of euro every time one of our thousands readers have a good jailbreak I should be rich!
      .
So don't you come here to scam our readers.
If you want to say something just say it, if you want money, you're not welcome.

a question, i have iphone 4 ios 4.1 and baseband 02.10.04, i installed cydia but i deleted it by the cydia installer due to a mistake i made, when i try to install it again i don't get anything, should i restore the iphone to be able to do it again? If so, how do I restore itunes 10, it tells me I want to update first the ios 4.1 that I already have and then it would be restored, my cell phone is legal from the comcel company in Colombia, I have a problem updating, restoring and then jailbreaking it Again ?, Would something happen to me about the baseband ?, or the baseband only applies to illegal iphones ?, I come to you because you seem to know a lot about the subject.

    1.    gnzl said

Carlos restores to 4.1 again, you don't care about the baseband.

    It works perfect

    iPhone 3GS NEW BOOTRON

    * I installed firmware 4.1, then I jailbroken it with Limera to make it untether (that is, the device can be restarted normally)

    * Then Run the Redsn0w search for the firmware 4.1 of the iphone 3gs (previously downloaded), it was verified and then check the option to install the baseband of the ipad only, puce it in DFU mode and ready I do the process alone

    * the device restarted perfectly, install the ultra0sn and ready released

    * and finally I did the process so that the battery is not consumed and now

    Hello everyone.

IPhone 3G theme: like "Alejandro" I can say that it works very well.
Followed steps: Download iOS iPhone 4.2.1> Download iOS iPad 3.2.2> Download Pwnage 4.1.3> Connect iPhone 3G> Open Pwnage 4.1.3> Search iOS 4.2.1> Search iOS 3.2.2> OK> Build firmware> Open iTunes 10> Search for modified iOS> Restore> Download redsn0w 0.9.6b5> Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1> Download ultrasn0w 1.2> Install ultrasn0w 1.2> Unlock iPhone 3G with iOS 4.2.1 and baseband 6.15
Advantages of the above mentioned method:
    1. Latest firmware version available (+ AirPlay + AirPrint)
    2. Activated from Pwnage
    3. All Sources added
    4. Multitasking function activated
    5. Activated the Wallpaper on the home screen
    6. Latest version of Cydia and ultrasn0w.
    Disadvantages:
    1. Slow down the iPhone 3G
    2. Little available RAM (max 59MB)
    3. Automatic reboots due to instability of Activator and SBSettings in 4.2.1
    _____
Conclusion: to gain speed and lose "extras" I just lowered it back to 3.1.3.
Followed steps: Restore iTunes with official iOS 3.1.3> Error 1015> Open TinyUmbrella and use Exit Recovery> Use original SIM to activate> Open Spirit.exe (PC) for Jaibreak> Add ultrasn0w Cydia> Install ulrasn0w and restart> iPhone 3G iOS 3.1.3 with Baseband 6.15 Free and De-updated.

gnzl, man another question, when I try to restore with itunes it does not leave me I get error 3194, how can I solve it, the phone works normal, but in reality I am interested in restoring it to be able to perform the jailbrek again, and I don't know how to correct it The error, I could not restore, I hope your response soon, Thank you. (I update the software to normal 4.1 did not put problems for that, but I get the error when verifying with itnes)

    1.    gnzl said

Have you tried ireb or tinyumbrella by hitting "kick out recovery mode" when it gets caught?

  60.   Carlos b. said

How would you do the "kick out recovery mode"?

  61.   Carlos b. said

yes man with tyniumbrella and he tells me »there is no way for you to get them. sorry. you are just too late, what else do I do?

  62.   Carlos b. said

Well, that was the first thing I did when downloading cydia, "make live easier", and then I left to choose the package and made the mistake of placing essential and not complete, then delete cydia and try to restore the iphone, until now I went to do it effectively and it does not leave me for the error, I downloaded a firmware of ios 4.1 iphone 4 from the web and with both it throws the error, both with the itunes automatically and with the firmware downloaded, I do not know what else I can do to be able restore and install iphone 4.

    1.    gnzl said

The shsh must be saved with tinyumbrella, cydia saves them when she can, not when you tell her.
      You can't put 4.1

  63.   Carlos b. said

What can I do then, can I update to 4.2 and then jailbreak it when it is safe to do so for that ios?

Hello Gnzl I see that you are the one who distributes the cheese here friend ... I have doubts about what I can do I hope you can help me, I have 2 iPhones ...

The first is a 3g 4.2.1 and bb 5.15.04 (I think it is the bb of the ipad?) This iphone already has the telcel but I have failures with the signal coming and going and I have no signal when I am inside a house or what building can it be? software or signal receiver? Do you recommend that I change the baby or what do I do? I also tell you that it is 16gb and only 7gb recognizes me.

The 2nd is the iphone 4 version 4.2.1 and bb 3.10.01 I have read that it still cannot be unlocked from the company just by jailbreaking it, is it true? What can you tell me about it friend? Thanks in advance
    Greetings.

  69.   gnzl said

The 3G will not have coverage because there will be little, I do not think it is due to any problem, you do not have an iPad baseband nor do I recommend it.
The 4 can't be released yet

  70.   Oscar said

Ok, I also told you to take it to a technician and he told me that it could be the signal receiver of the iphone because if there is wide coverage where I live and that it must be changed, the signal shows "no service" and my other cell has a signal I fully deduce that there is a conflict to connect with the signal, the wifi works well but I do not know what to think, also that they charge me some money, and I also do not understand why it only recognizes 7gb if it is 16gb? I appreciate that you clarify my doubts

  71.   gnzl said

Well, I don't know Oscar, I would have to have it in front of me and see it, maybe it has a 16gb casing but it is 8gb.

Hello. I have an iPhone 3gs of 8g and it is released, it has baseband 6.15 but I notice some failures that I think are due to the ios 4.1 that they put on it since it suddenly loses resolution and some other details that did not make my 2g, I want to upload it to 4.2 but I do not understand If I need the ipad baseband again or as it already has it, I just apply the ios4.2 with redsnow and then ultrasnow to release it again, I hope I have given myself to understand since the issue is half tangled
I will appreciate if you help me Greetings!
