Remember that this function allowed you to play videos in floating mode while other actions are being carried out within the operating system. However, ordinary users were still unable to access this feature. A few hours ago, YouTube announced the official launch of playback in picture-in-picture (PiP) mode. In the next few hours, the function will be received among all users in the United States and it is possible that an early expansion to Europe will be considered.

YouTube has been reluctant to launch Floating Playback (PiP) mode on iOS and iPadOS. However, after many months behind finally the feature is now available in the app for all users. For activate playback in PiP mode you just have to swipe up from the bottom bar to go to the home page of iOS and iPadOS. At that time, the video will be reduced in size and placed at the bottom of the screen. We can move its layout and its size on the screen and to access the app again we can click on the video or on the app icon as if it were opening it.
