If you like to watch videos on YouTube, it is very likely that you usually wait until you are on a Wi-Fi connection before you can start enjoying your favorite channels if you don't want your data rate to run out at the first change. Google is aware of these types of users and is working on a new application called YouTube Go, an application specially designed to reduce the consumption of mobile data. But not all is good news, since initially this application will only be available in India, where data rates and mobile data networks are not yet as widespread as in Europe or America.
However, the company assures that over time, this app will also be available worldwide. Again we can see the interest of large companies in emerging countries such as India, where Apple is also focusing its interest in recent months, although with quite a few obstacles along the way.
Application YouTube Go offers us how many options to reduce the cost of our mobile data:
- Offline mode, which will allow us to download the videos at night with a Wi-Fi connection to be able to watch them the next day without having to use the data.
- Preview mode, which will show us a small GIF with the video content.
- The application will show us the data consumption of each video according to the resolution we select.
- Possibility of sharing the video with a friend, via bluetooth, so that you can also enjoy the video whenever you want without having to resort to your data rate.
