Google has announced the launch of YouTube Kids on the US App Store, a variant of the usual video portal that is characterized by offering content designed for the smallest of the house. You already know that on YouTube there are videos of all kinds and it may be that if we leave the child alone, he will end up seeing something that we do not want.
With YouTube Kids this problem is solved and the children aged four and over They will be able to watch videos safely and according to their preferences. It is also possible to view series and programs from channels such as DreamWorks TV, Jim Henson TV, Mother Goose Club, Talking Tom and Friends or National Geographic Kids among others.
YouTube Kids for iOS will also have a series of parental controls that will allow us to manage the use that the child makes of the application. Thanks to these, we can set timers, make volume adjustments, deactivate the search system or send comments to the YouTube team to continue adapting the application for children.
The downside, as I mentioned at the beginning of the post, is that YouTube Kids only available on the US App Store for the moment. In the Google blog there is no mention that it will reach other territories but hopefully so.
The proliferation of smartphones and tablets is increasingly attracting a very young audience who is trying to learn and have fun with the use of new technologies. YouTube Kids is an example of this but it is not the first since, for example, the social network Vine launched its app for children a few weeks ago and it is available in Spain.
