The art world never ceases to amaze us, In the same way that we are surprised by the huge amounts that are often paid for products of the Cupertino company that go up to auction, this time, and this is the strangest of all, we are going to talk about a painting.
The most successful Pop artist in history, Andy Warhol, did not want to miss his appointment with Apple. This is how this "Macintosh" style painting could end up exceeding 30.000 to hang in the living room of whoever is willing to pay for it (or the kitchen, there is absolutely nothing written about tastes).
Woodshed Art Auction is the specialist auction company that will be in charge of "selling" this work of art. On the canvas, the artist limited himself to drawing the logo of the Cupertino company accompanied by the name of the computer operating system that made Apple so famous at the time. Of course, we found an unsuccessful approach to the colors that represented the company at that time, although years later minimalism entered the door and Apple opted for the use of less flashy and more classic colors. This approximately 17 inch frame is in good condition (needless to say considering it is not as old as other works of art).
Recientemente a similar painting by the same artist and with the same theme was sold for $ 900.000, the difference in this case is that the painting we are talking about is made on paper, so it might even have been a simple idea of what Warhol really wanted to represent in other, more conducive conditions. Between 20.000 and 30.000 dollars are expected to be obtained with this painting of an artist who became tremendously famous making everyday art, from works related to the mythical Coca-Cola to the most representative M. Monroe, all North American clichés.
It seems incredible to me that those prices are paid for paintings like this on paper, but everyone sees art as they see it, for color tastes.
