Since then only Cadillac and Honda have officially confirmed their collaboration with CarPlay until today, when Volkswagen has also decided that the screens of their vehicles will show the multimedia operating system for Apple cars, more specifically Golf R and Tiguan models from the 2016 edition.
CarPlay will come fully integrated with MIB-II, which is Volkswagen's own multimedia system, so you can switch between the different software systems according to your preferences, without forgetting Car Net, which is an application service that allows you to locate the vehicle from , up to the remote locking of the vehicle. Car Net costs 200 euros per year, the first six months of trial being free. However, it will not be necessary to contract Car Net to use Car Play and MIB-II together, so a relief for the future user.
Basic models will feature a resistive touch screen and a resolution of 400 × 240 (quite poor both the touch system and the resolution ...) and without the possibility of installing CarPlay.
