Video-presentation of the operation of the 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s

Touch 3D

Every time Apple presents something new, it does so with a video of several minutes in which they tell us about the benefits of new technology. Yesterday, one of these novelties was the new screen that they have called 3D Touch Display, which is capable of differentiating between three types of pressure applied to the screen: a touch, a press or a stronger press. None of this would be of any use if the software did not accompany and in the 3D Touch operation video we can get an idea of how the system will work on the iPhone 6s.

As you can see in the video, using 3D Touch on an icon on the home screen, a new menu will open that will allow us to perform the most used actions for each application. In Mail, we can press on a message to preview it or press a little more to enter it. I know that many of you will be thinking something that I also have in my head and that is that many of these gestures could be done simply with the time in which we press, but once we get used to it, having the possibility of using 3 types of touches will be that everything be faster and more comfortable.

In the video, Ive's (let me joke) soporific voice also tells us about the taptic engine, which will provide us with a physical response in the form of vibration so that we know what touch we are using to know when to apply more or less pressure.

It is clear that at first we are not going to use it with all the precision that we would like, but I am totally convinced that it is only a matter of time, just as it happened to me when I changed from the screen of the N97 to that of the iPhone 4S, having to press until you mark your finger on the screen to make it move just by touching it. How do you see it?

Would you sell the iPhone 6 to buy the 6s?

In my opinion, the most remarkable thing is the new multitasking operation thanks to these new gestures. It will be very useful.

By the way, to the gestures they make on emails, addresses etc ... You don't see the problem that the finger stays in the middle of the content and you can't remove it?

I'm almost sure that the jailbreak guys will include this improvement, since the 3DTouch from what I see is nothing more than gestures included in the iOS, only available in the 6s .ipsk ...

Hello, cesargt. You are very wrong. As an example, the ability to switch from application to application by sliding from the corners. With the jailbreak it can be activated, but without taking into account the pressure. I have had that and it has no use since iOS has gestures to go back one page like in Safari. If you activate it, you miss the native gesture. With 3D Touch, in the example I am talking about, we will press a little harder from the edge to, instead of going back one page, go back one application in the same way we do on the iPad and with four fingers. And I'm talking about one example only.

      A greeting.

Is it worth going from an iphone 6 plus to a 6s plus? I think I will wait for the 7 although to sell the 6 plus it is worth more now than in a year obviously

Hello Gabriel. That will depend on how each one sees it. If you want better cameras and try the 3D Touch, yes. But necessary is not going to be far from it. Think that for them to add support for that screen in games, it will be a long way off. In the game they presented, you can zoom while you play, but for a game you don't have to change your mobile.

You'll also have the 3D Touch interface that pulls out options from the icons, but it's not something you can't live with either.

As in everything, in the end it is whether one wants to or not. It is not necessary.

      A greeting.
