A security breach exposes all Samsungs with an in-screen sensor

Galaxy S10+

The fingerprint sensor on the screen was a very important revolution in mobile telephony, thus allowing more and better use of the front of smartphones, in this way the visual effect is more attractive and of course the designs are more stylized. However, the technology has not been working as expected, almost all brands are having problems implementing this capacity in operating conditions. Now Samsung is once again involved in a security scandal, all its devices with a fingerprint sensor on the screen are having quite important security flaws and they are practically unlocked by themselves.

Relatively recently some media echoed that Samsung's in-screen fingerprint sensor mobile phones like the Galaxy S10, which features an ultrasonic sensor, were being unlocked with extreme ease by any fingerprint, regardless of whether it was by the user or any stranger. At first the screen protector was "blamed", and it is that by placing plastics it seemed to be unlocked without impediments. However, as the tests that populate social networks show, this happens on devices as diverse as the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy Note 10.

Neither does the latest Samsung tablet get rid of it, which despite having a less secure optical sensor, shows the same result when it comes to preventing unlocking by locals and strangers. This also conflicts with the recent "Face ID" presented by Google on its Pixel 4, which is not getting satisfactory results either. I think we already know why Apple did not decide to include an on-screen fingerprint sensor and has opted for Face ID, which has not managed to be imitated either, clearly the on-screen sensor is a security flaw that has been in the limelight since its inception.
