Amazon will stop selling Apple TV in its stores

Amazon It is, for me, the largest store in the world. When I go to buy anything, the first thing I do almost always is look at Amazon.com. They have everything, always at a good price and with a good guarantee. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this way about them, but soon that "everything" will become something less, since they have already announced that they will stop selling devices like Apple TV and Google's Chromecast.

Amazon sent an email to the sellers advising them of the impending change. From October 29, some devices that offer this type of content will begin to disappear and they make an excuse that these devices are not compatible with the service that Amazon plans to launch shortly, Prime video.

The excuse is just that, an excuse. The reality is different and it is very respectable, but it would not be very elegant to say that they eliminate this type of devices so that they do not compete with the Fire TV y Fire TV Stick. It is likely that Amazon wanted to eliminate its most dangerous rivals at a stroke and this is a pre-emptive attack. Or since we are on a blog about Apple, we can also think that they are afraid of the fourth generation Apple TV that has to arrive this month and the Chromecast has fallen to cover what would be a blatant frontal attack against the ATV 4.

Those of us who want to buy an Apple TV 4 will have to do it directly from the Apple Store (that's what I was thinking of doing…). If they will not sell it in the future, it is assumed that they will not include any application compatible with Amazon's video streaming service either. Other players of this type, such as those from Roku, PlayStation or Microsoft, have applications that allow them to view Amazon Prime Video, so they will not be affected by this measure.
