Answers begin to arrive to Pebble users connected to an iPhone

Pebble Time

Pebble just like Android Wear they do not allow us to interact in both directions when we have the devices paired to an iPhone, while with the Apple Watch we can do it without any limitation. With the Apple Watch we can answer messages, calls, emails, interact with the calendar to postpone appointments or create them ...

The limitation to which Pebble and Android Wear are found is established by Apple, as is evident and I seriously doubt that it will ever remove it. While to try to give Pebble watches more functions, the company has reached an agreement with AT&T to be able to respond to the messages received on the platform. But not everything is going to be rosy, since this new service also has its limitations.

To start this service is only limited to AT&T company contract users not being valid in card users. Secondly, the models that support this new function are the models Pebble Time, Pebble Steel and Time Round. The last limitation is that the messages we respond to messages will not be reflected in the application of our iPhone. From Pebble they affirm that they are negotiating with other companies to be able to extend the service to more users.

If you are an AT&T user and want to check if you can already use the answers through the operator you must proceed as follows:

  • Update the Pebble Time iPhone app to version 3.4 or higher.
  • Next we have to check that the firmware version of our Pebble is 3.7 or higher.
  • From the iPhone application we go to Menu> Settings> Actionable Notifications to activate Text Replies
  • Next we have to follow the instructions shown on the screen. Once we have configured the responses, we can respond to all the messages we receive through voice commands or through a list of predefined responses.
