Apple and Beats introduce Solo2 wireless headphones

Beats Solo2 Wireless

Although their existence was leaked a few days ago, it was not until today that Apple and Beats presented the new headphones to society. Solo2 wireless.

This evolution of the second generation of the Beats Solo2 is characterized by having wireless connectivity based on Bluetooth, something that allows us to eliminate the ties of the classic 3,5 mm jack-based cable that, on many occasions, is a hindrance in our daily tasks.

The new Beats Solo2 do not seem to bring great improvements in terms of acoustics. The dynamic range is maintained and the Beats' own equalization for the drivers promises bright and detailed sounds, with an adequate balance between the different frequencies but showing some emphasis on the low frequencies.

The real novelty is the new Bluetooth connection that, in addition to eliminating the cable, will allow us to enjoy some freedom with respect to the audio source (about 10 meters in a space free of obstacles), modify the volume, skip songs or respond to phone calls if we have it associated with our iPhone.

Wireless Beats Solo2 will be available later this month in the Apple Store for a price of U.S. dollar 299,95. As for the customization options, it seems that we can buy them in blue, black, white or ProductRed red.

This release is the first after the acquisition of Beats by Apple. Surely fans of both brands find attractive in the new wireless Solo2s, I personally still prefer other options from long-time brands that, as far as sound quality is concerned, I consider them superior to these Beats despite being less pleasing to the eye.

Nacho, you say you prefer other brands and models. Could you name a few? I've been thinking about buying some quality headphones for a while, but I don't understand this and I can't decide.
    Thank you.

What budget do you have? I would go for Sennheiser in the first instance, you have options on Amazon very well priced and with an indisputable quality. If you want a specific model, I'm currently with a Sennheiser Urbanite (they want to compete with the Beats in terms of aesthetics) and honestly, they sound like a joke. If you want something more authentic, I would go for some Momentums (which don't sound good, they sound the following).

Then you have some models of the HD family that are focused on a more professional use but of course, the price shoots up to 250-300 euros.

Personally, I also like the sound of the B&W P5, the pity is that they soundproof very little and after a while they end up being uncomfortable due to the shape of their pad but if you listen to instruments, music with bright voices, etc .; you will love them. Along the same lines, you have the P3s that are cheaper because they are not made of leather and something else, but they also sound very good. If you have a Fnac or Apple Store nearby, you can try them there because they usually have them connected to iPods that you already know, it is not the best MP3 player on the market but it is what it is. If you have a Cowon or a Meizu, they are much better in this aspect and it shows, an outrage also.

In a battle plan for the day to day I now use SoundMagic E10, in-ear headphones that replace my CX500 angles due to cable breakage. They sound great for what they cost (about 30 euros) and I already tell you, they soundproof and sound very good, betting on powerful and deep bass (not like that of the CX300, which is a too enveloping bass that eats away at the rest of the frequencies, for electronic music it seems that you have a subwoofer but for the rest of the styles they are mediocre next to these SoundMagic).

In headphones there is a world and this is like asses, everyone likes one. Bass is very important to me and I love Sennheiser's but there are people who prefer more neutral and balanced sounds. Before beats, I would look at Shure, AKG, Denon, Bose, B & W, ...

      Regards!

There are many, many better brands than these beats and, moreover, cheaper. Senheiser for example.

I am happy with my Bose Ae2W, with bluetooth and cable for air travel or in case the battery dies

I was afraid of some wireless Sony, they cost me 1000 Mexican pesos and they are of great quality and sound, I have been with them for years and the kreo sound is better than the beats and their drums last many hours at max volume

I have some wireless Akg that give it a billion laps in specifications and design and cost me € 120 more postage in Spain. I don't want Beats even if they give them to me (and if they give them to me, I'll sell them yes or yes). 300 $ I have read that they cost, what a shame gentlemen, that at currency exchange, we all know how it works, 300 €.
    Well that, all your Apple.

But of all these brands that you talk about, they are infinitely better than the ones that come with the original iphone?

Since the iPhone does not support the aptx protocol, ANY sound that you send via bluetooth (be it to the audio receiver, phones, car, or whatever) will be heard with a quality comparable to an mp3 at 192kbps.
Spending money is a wireless phone (of quality) to use with an iPhone is a waste of money
